platform and then smoke and fire on the third recall. rail. riders dealt with delays on orange, blue and silver lines. megan mcgrath is live now at federal center station as they open service. >> reporter: we arrived here early this morning a little after 4:00, we saw workers leaving the scene. i shouted out to one are you done with the emergency repairs and he said yes. and just moments ago, metro tweeted out confirming that that they have indeed fixed all of the problems here at the federal center station and they are open for business as normal this morning. so big problems yesterday, though. two separate incidents in the federal center station including this one that was captured on security video. take a look. it's pretty dramatic. sparks and flash right alongside the platform. fortunately nobody was injured, but a disturbing sight to see. the other incident involved a burning piece of paper and the third rail causing smoke in the ta

horrifying ordeal at high point high school. police are still looking for eulalio tordil. he was accused of shooting his estranged wife to death in the school parking lot there. now, it was chaotic scene at high point high yesterday in beltsville. the victim, gladys tordil, was picking up her daughter when the suspect met her in the parking lot. police say they started arguing and shots rang out. it all happened as students were participating in after school activities. there is a teacher by the same name as the victim list willed at park dale high school in riverdale. meanwhi meanwhile grief counselors will be there as students return. derrick ward will join us live on the late in the search for the suspect. the behemoth wildfire in canada showing some signs of slowing. but still so much to get under control. we told you about thousands of people fleeing the area yesterda

stuck in the rain and heavier rain now out across parts of the delaware shore. that will be pivoting in our direction. an area of low pressure down off the outer banks of north carolina is swirling all that moisture back towards us. so there will be no sunshine for anybody around the region for today. here is future weather, here comes the moderate rain by 9:00 a.m. into parts of southern maryland and then it goes from howard county out to prince william county by lunchtime. 4:00, 5:00, that first batch of moderate rain heading out into the shenandoah valley and central virginia. 7:00 tonight, still overcast, maybe a little let you up in the rain in northeastern maryland, but i wouldn't plan on being outside on your friday evening. so planning out your day then for today, temperatures stuck in the low to mid-50s at best. we may not budge even much above 54 or 5. and again for tomorrow, here is future weather. tomorrow morning at 5:00 a.m., likely to still be cloudy with a few light rain showers around. but by noon tomorrow, still mostly cloudy, just hit and miss

it was about 4:40 in the afternoon when 62-year-old eulalio tordil followed his wife on to the property the here at high point high school, 44-year-old glad cys tordil, he to pick up her daughter. a bystander tried to intervene and that bystander was shot in the shoulder. and the woman shot inside her suv. there were after school oig activities going on and as a precaution, it was put on a state of lockdown for about two hours. we spoke to some of the parents. >> you don't know what is going on, you're hearing from other parents something happened, make sure nothing is wrong with your kid. >> reporter: now, crisis teams are expected to be on happened because they think that some students and staff may have actually witness that had shooting. also expect increased police presence as the shooter, accused shooter, has not been caught. we're live in sv
