jacket. we're in the mid-50s from the mountains all the way to the bay. a look at a warm-up on the way, that is in just a few minutes. developing this morning -- metro trance either police are searching for whoever stabbed a man outside the minnesota avenue station. police tell us the victim was waiting in the bus bay area early this morning when someone stabbed him. he is expected to be okay. police haven't released a suspect description at this time. meanwhile the federal transit administration is coming down hard on metro for its handling of thursday morning's fire and explosion at the federal center southwest station. they're calling on metro to make immediate decisions based on safety and not passenger convenience. the fta also recommends metro slow trains down and shorten trains to reduce the arriving of a third rail fire. metro also must

standdown, essentially retraining all of its employees on safety procedures. that includes running safety drills to make sure workers are prepared for an emergency. i'll address all these issues with paul wiedefeld when he joins us for an exclusive interview here in the studio coming up at 9:00 this morning. this morning prince george's county police are investigating the murder in lanham. last night they were called to a home on greenfield drive to investigate an assaults. when they arrived, they found a man seriously hurt. the victim did die at the hospital. police are not saying how the man died or who killed him. the latest now on the it deadly shopping center shootings in maryland. we now know why eulalio tordil went on friday's rampage. police say he wanted another car after allegedly killing his estranged wife on thursday. they believe eulalio tordil was trying to go car jack the other

two victims, but they resisted. police describing those killed as a happy teacher, an american dreamer and hero. >> malcolm winffel gave his life for somebody he doesn't know in order to protect her from a predator. >> in all tordil now faces three counts of murder. he was a federal protection officer on administrative leave because of several protective orders against him. he was not supposed to have guns, but he got more following the restraining orders. >> and the final vehicle time claw tina molina, she was a 65-year-old woman was bolivia. tordil shot and killed her outside the giant on friday morning. a memorial is set up if the very parking lot where she was gunned down. the entire community there still in shock.

things that we do need even though this situation may not necessarily match up to those particular issues. >> i don't know if there is much you can really do about it, but you're right, the unions will first be concerned about the safety of their driver. i know a few bus drivers who say that one of the biggest problems they have is just the attitude of some people. and it's not all the routes. we have to keep that in mind, too. there are problematic routes. and people will actually walk on, refuse to pay, there is not much that the drivers can do. and you may have to get into a situation where the police department knows some of the troubled areas and that's where they might station people at certain times and certain locations. >> yeah, this is really the worst nightmare, i mean think about drivers as you mentioned, they always are one step away it seems to be from some kind of horrendous thing happening on the bus. the unruly passenger and of course in this case somebody who takes the driver over. i nk

metro transit police are searching for whoever stabbed a man outside the minute men avenue station. police tell us the victim was waiting in the bus bay area early this morning when someone stabbed him. he is expected to be okay. police haven't released a suspect description at this point. meanwhile the federal transit administration is coming down hard on metro for it handling of thursday morning's fire and explosion at the federal center southwest station. they're calling on metro to make immediate decisions based on safety and not passenger convenience. the fta also wants metro to slow trains down and shorten trains to reduce the third rail tire risk. metro also must conduct a safety standdown. essentially retraining all of its employees on safety procedures and that includes running safety drills to make sure workers are prepared for an emergency. we will address all of this at 9:00 a.m., we'll ask metro's gm paul wiedefeld about some of the

issue when he joins us right here in studio. this morning prince george's county police are investigating a murder in lanham. last night police say that they were called to a home on greenfield drive to investigate an assault. when they arrived, they found a man was serously hurt. the victim died at the hospital. right now police are not saying how the man died or who killed him. the time is 7:03. and in the district a man is dead after a shooting in southeast. will this happened on nelson place just before 2:00 in the morning. police tell us that the victim died at the hospital. still no word on a suspect. the latest thousand eest ny shopping center shooting in maryland. we now know why eulalio tordil went on friday's rampage. police say he wanted another car after allegedly killing his exchanged wife gladys tordil on thursday. they say malcolm winffel and claw dudina molina were killed because of the carjacking

attempts. >> these men are heros. malcolm winffel gave his life for somebody he doesn't know in order to protect her from a predator. >> in all tordil now faces three counts of tirs degree murder and two counts of attempted murder. he was a federal protection officer on administrative leave because of several protective orders against him. he was not supposed to have guns because of that order. but police say he went out and got more guns following the restraining orders and the final victim in friday's deadly rampage is claudina molina, she was a 65-year-old woman from bolivia. tordil shot and killed her outside the aspen hill giant on friday morning. the entire community there is in shock. >> and i'm just sad. it's the evil. people don't value life anymore. >> molina was jus
