tordil may crime spree because he lost his glasses. that new piece of information was revealed during his first court appearance yesterday. prosecutors said tordil lost help in a struggle with claudina molina, the woman killed in a parking lot at the giant in aspen hill. he is now charged with three counts of first-degree murder, two in montgomery county. he was ordered held without bond. right now d.c. police are on the lookout for this man, 24-year-old leon stewart of northeast d.c. police say he shot and killed darnell richardson in march. $25,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in this case. a week after a waldorf man was shot to death in brandywine, three men are now in jail. all three face first-degree murder charges. officers say the shooting stemmed from a marijuana-related robbery. coming up on 5:16 right now. kansas city police department is in mourning after a detective

was killed in police say the detective was shot after he pulled over a driver near the kansas speedway. they say curtis ayers got out of his car and shot the detective twice in the chest. suspect then fled the scene and carja jajacked another vehicle. he was injured in a crash and shooting with police before he was taken into custody. drug lord with a keep el chapo guzman could be extradited to the u.s. as early as the middle of this year. a mexican judge ruled yesterday that guzman can be extradited to face charges in the u.s. those charges range from money laundering to drug trafficking, kidnapping and murder. gh guzman had been on the run for several months. george mason university police are looking into two cases of sextortion. in the scam victims kram someone on line persuades them to broadcast sexual acts over web cams. the victims then say the suspects record the acts and threaten to post that video

soldier was shot when he tried to disarm the that construction site ran over to the scene, police say they sat on the robber until help arrived. >> i think it's great. talk about folks sort of joining together and trying to help one another out. >> investigators have for the released the name of the alleged robber. a controversial death in winchester has been ruled a suicide. the medical examiner says 20-year-old minifield shot himself in the head. initially the report said he had been running from police when he shot himself. minifield's family and friends don't believe the report. police asked virginia state police to conduct the investigation. two students stabbed with scissors at a montgomery county school are recovering this morning. this happened during lunch period yesterday at the churchill high school in potomac. police say a 15-year-old attacked two 17-year-olds with a pair of scissors and a tool used

who told police they h him go because there is no law this d.c. against stealing flowers and that in fact he was a heart surgeon and he needed these flowers for what he called aromatherapy. he appeared before a judge over the week enand tend and the jud released him pending his next court date. court records show he was arrested back in 014 f2014 for exact same offense, stealing flowers. and a judge set a trial date in that case ands released him. reporting in the district, mark segraves, news 4. it is now 5:49. nebraska officials say there is no evidence that a spinning carnival ride malfunctioned causing a girl to be seriously hurt. witnesses say 11-year-old elizabeth's hair became stuck in the ride called kings crown over the weekend in omaha. she sustained several injuries including a fractured skull.

>> reporter: good general election looking at a transition team, he's already cast new jersey governor and former rival chris christie to head that transition team. but there is a new report out in politico that says a lot of the republicans who are typically away as advisers and analysts and involved in this aren't really interested in the trump transition team or the trump administration. in fact politico says that five dozen that they interviewed said no thanks to trump. >> interesting. what about the democrats, what should we expect now from the hillary clinton campaign? >> reporter: well, first of all, she's got west virginia to deal with today which they admit could very well be a loss for them. she's looking ahead to kentucky, they have already pulled out adds to run later this week. and as we saw in loudoun county, she's focusing on women, female voters with that breaking barriers tour. >> and finally, bernie sanders. he keeps saying that he is not

north carolina's governor says his lawsuit the aclu is questioning the legality of d.c.'s plan to pump $20 million into a program that hopes will boost the academic achievement of minority males. white students outperformed black students in the district on standardized tests. the argument centers on its study which cop cluded the city did not give enough reasons to devise a program that excludes female students. a year book photo is causing outrage this morning. it completely misidentified a muslim student saying her name was isis. >> no student should have to be falsely associated with a rep pre pre-henceable terrorist organization. >> here is the photo in question. there was a student named isis phillips at the school, but she had transferred. the council on american islamic relations is investigating to see whether this was a simple mistake or something more.
