make his first court appearance on charges that he perred his 14-year-old neighbor. police say the us spect killed the 14-year-old last thursday at a town home on brazil circle in dale city. the teen lived in the same townhouse as his family. he's currently being charged as a juvenile, but may eventually be tried as an adult according to the prince william county attorney. a fairfax county lawyer terrorized a mclean couple for hours and nearly killed them. the victims describe a horrific set of circumstances. kristin wright joins us now to explain the case. >> andrew schmuhl is using an extremely rare defense, involuntary intoxication. his lawyers will argue that his mental state during the attack resulted in the use of medication. schmuhl is charged with abduction and militia wounding for the attack on another lawyer and his wife in 2014.

wife of 62-year-old eulalio tordil. he was a federal police officer who police say shot his wife at high point high school on may 5th and sas she waited for her kids to come out of that school. the students and staff will turn out here to say good-bye in a solemn way. she was a very popular teacher here, she taught advanced placement chemistry. later today, there will be a funeral for claudina molina. she was shot on may 6th outside of a giant store in montgomery county. police say eulalio tordil killed her in a failed carjacking attempt as he was trying to get away from his first crime. tordil was arrested shortly after that second shooting just literally across the street from where the crime occurred and family members are still trying to get gladys tordil home to the philippines. having trouble raising the money to get her there where she will be buried. derrick ward,

about lawn mayer samower safety. people die every year as a result of the accidents. 35,000 people are injured in lawn mothmower accidents every and 90 on average die from injuries most attributed to riding moteers. the fatal incidents usually include lawnmower tipovers where the victim falls under and is run over by the mower. or the victim is thrown from or falls off the riding mower. oftentimes the victims are children. >> a child can fall off, the lawnmower can go over them or if they're playing in the yard and you back up your mower, you don't see where you're going behind you. time and time again we see kids being run over and have very serious injuries associated with that. >> the cpsc also says toe amputations are common with hole owners cutting grass to cut down on injuries.

the trial for the second baltimore police officer accused in freddie gray's death continues this morning. edward nero is accused of assault, reckless endangerment and high school cmisconduct. there are six officers charged in gray's death. at least one other officer garrett miller is expected to testify against nero. chris xwor done wigordon will h latest for you this afternoon. aer hearing will be held in a sexual assault case. police say antoine pitt cut off his ankle monitor while on proceed pace and assaulted a woman. a judge expected to rule on motion today. jury selection could start as soon as tomorrow. we could see a series of deadlocked decisions from the supreme court.
