fairfax county board of supervisors hired an outside consultant to examine the working environment inside the fire department. allegations of harassment surfaced after the recent suicide of firefighter nicole mittendorf. the men claiming to be with the fire department were found on a community blog. last week a person was placed on administrative leave after posted on his facebook page. and montgomery county police are asking for your help to identify this man who shot at someone but didn't hit them in wheaton last week. you can see the man holding a silver handgun in his left hand here. the shooting started with an argument on layhill road just off georgia avenue. the $10,000 reward is in this case. two special police officers at a d.c. hospital are facing involuntary manslaughter charges. clinton montgomery and charles

brown tried to stop 74-year-old james mcbride from leaving the hospital. he died later from blunt force injuries to his neck. it's a scam that people worse feared and is happening in the washington area at an alarming rate. it is called virtual kidnappings. no one is in any real physical danger, but the crooks call to make them think a ransom is all that will keep their loved ones from harm. this is on the prince william county facebook page and two scams targeted people at george mason university and a third at an unidentified catholic school. the news4 i-team has more on what to do if this happens to you. you can find the tips in our washington app by searching virtual kidnapping. it was one of the worst accidents to happen in prince george's county.

truck and a church van last november. four people including the driver who caused the crash died. now the first responders who helped save lives will be honored at 10:00 this morning in manassas. other local first responders are being honored for heroism on the job. the men of the d.c. fire department were honored last night as people had a chance to say thank you. >> if it wasn't for them, i would not be here, my husband and i would not be here. it was just like -- >> muriel bowser also honored a man's family who died in a building fighting the fire last year. and under a new rule businesses cannot deny overtime to anyone making under $47,500 a year. that nearly doubles the current annual salary

line. the national capitol region transportation planning board is meeting this afternoon. people on that board will talk about several transit projects including how maryland's planning to pay for the purple line. the line rail will connect to montgomery county between carrollton and bethesda. 4:51. for those of you who tack it every day, you know the issues on the bw parkway. the lanes have no markings, the lanes are littered with potholes. and in many places the outer fog line of the roadway is missing as are the center lane dividers. the u.s. park police say the deer the rating road conditions could lead to deadly accidents. officers also say it impacts the way they patrol the roads for drunk drivers. >> defense attorneys are now using that to attack the probable cause for dui arrests. then we have to follow the drivers beyond those areas until we get to an area that does have proper markings. >> and the national park se
