shomari stone, news 4. i'm chris lawrence at the live desk where we have learned that a fire likely broke out on flight 804 in the few minutes before it disappeared. the plane transmitted data to ground stations, showing smoke had been detected in a bathroom near the cockpit. the plane fell off radar screens within minutes of the warning which suggests something catastrophic happened on board. egyptian aviation officials said that search teams discovered human remains in the mediterranean sea and some passengers' luggage and seats from the plane. u.s. navy deployed a search plane to help find more records and two pieces of crucial equipment. the cockpit voice recorder and flight data recorder. the black box has a pinger that will send out a signal for up to 30 days. there were 66 people on board from paris to cairo. to see how their families are copio

and search egyptair. thank you. police say he broke in to a house in the middle of the night and sexually assaulted the woman inside. now they released a sketch in hopes of catching him. kristin wright is in the northwest d.c. neighborhood where it happened. kristin? >> yeah, that's right. mostly everyone in this neighborhood knows about this sexual assault because they have an active listserv where they keep tabbing on everything and now there is a sketch they are watching closely. this is a sketch of the man d.c. police are calling a person of interest. in a sexual assault of a woman in her home in northwest. tonight people in the neighborhood are going about their friday night but things are not the same. >> it's really scary. i have an 18-year-old away at college and she's coming back. >> reporter: police say the man got in the woman's home tuesday after midnight. it is unclear if the

family come stay with her now. jim? >> kristin wright, thank you. we have new details about the search for two fairfax county teenagers who have been missing manier than a week now. police tell us the teens maybe changing their appearance. 13-year-old danielle lima and 14-year-old rudy torzano were last seen last tuesday. police believe at the time they could have taken a taxi to the jessup, maryland area, but now the search has gone regional, stretching from west virginia to as far north as new york city. the teens may look different. >> they are potentially changing their appearance. we have evidence they might be changing their apoorns. rudy may at this time have green hair opposed to brown. >> because the search has expanded, the fbi is now involved. >> another headache for commuters on metro tonight. right in the middle of rush hour. >> an arcing insulator forced trains to single track on the red line togh

station around 6:30 tonight. it doesn't appear this was smoke. trains resumed normal service an hour and a half later. metro said big changes were coming and today fired 20 managers including seven senior managers. the general manager made the announcement in a moment mow as part of an effort to streamline management to improve effectiveness and accountability and ultimately to improve the system and make it safer. one third of the managers who were terminated worked in rail operations. metro is asking for help. it wants to end the violent conflicts that often play out on trains, platform an buses, too and usually involve teenagers. the transit agency is hosting youth empowerment summit tomorrow. students from across our region are invited to come together and share ideas on how to stop the conflicts. this free one-day event will be held tomorrow morning from 8:30 to 2:00 in the afternoon at metro headquarters on fifth street northwest. a verdict is expected monday
