threw rocks outside of a donald trump rally there. police officers responded in force. smoke canisters and using spray to disburse the protesters. several officers police say are being treated for injuries. at least one protester has been arrested. here is what some protesters told nbc's hally jackson. >> donald trump cannot come to our city after calling us rapists. lies. he is not in the spirit of people and the spirit of democracy and in the spirit of the promise. we all have certain alienable rights and he acts like they only belong to the people who support him. >> what we are protesting is the hate from donald trump and everything that he has in his policies. anywhere from banning muslims and anywhere from hitting immigrants and hitting women and calling mexicans rapists and that is what you see in mexican and what do you expect the mexican community to act like?

more. >> hi, betty. good morning. this morning, the streets have cleared out in downtown albuquerque, after real protesters last night. after that donald trump rally, the demonstrators interrupted his remarks and not uncommon to see during a trump speech but what we saw was the escalation like what we saw in chicago a couple of months ago, but police still employed pepper spray and smoke can sfers and the crowd was disruptive and smoke in the air here outside of the convention center as police walked block by block to keep protesters somewhat under control. trump, himself, talked a lot about topics about hillary clinton and talked about the new mexico governor here. many of the protesters upset about his appearance in albuquerque at all. betty? >> hally, thank you for that. a trump senior adviser responded to the riot tweeting, watching thugs and punks in albuquerque en route to california. they didn't even know what the

republican governor martinez was not at the rally saying he was too busy to attend in a statement. as trump remains just a handful of delegates away from officially taking the republican nomination. he won the washington primary last night and while clinton is poised to win pennsylvania's primary, it won't give her any delegates. washington democrats already aawarded their delegates based on their caucuses in march. trump and clinton engage in a new round of mud-slinging. trump dredged up a decade old conspiracy that the clintons were involved in the suicide of their staffer and close friend vince foster and trump took that route, clinton released this new ad going after trump for the housing crisis. ♪ >> i sort of hope that happens, because then people like me

throughout the state costing 1. 5 million dollars and ads are set to air this morning. extreme weather in the plains and severe thunderstorms that spawned several tornadoes in western kansas. look at this. authorities say two people were critically injured tuesday when a tornado struck near dodge city. storm chasers captured several tornadoes on video including the moment one started pulling apart a home. >> look at that house. yeah, just hold up so we can get it. pieces of the house. >> oh, no. oh, no. >> that is frightening. there is no word on the extensive damage to that structure. the national weather service warned residents ahead of time to take cover. meanwhile, storm chasers captured two double instances of tornadoes sitting near each other. ford county officials say the tornado outbreak caused significant damage to a landfill building and other structures. an inch of large hail coated streets in denver

meteorologist bill karins will have more on there sever weather outbreak in a few minutes. bill cosby slow motion fall from grace over an avalanche of criminal sexual assault charges. the comic icon is facing the possibility of a ten-year prison sentence if convicted of a crime that allegedly occurred more than a decade ago. nbc's stephanie gosk has the story. >> reporter: once america's dad now turned defendant. bill cosby needed shins to walk into court. the judge ruled there is enough evidence to go to trial. >> we are going to move forward on the case and look forward to getting a trial date. >> reporter: cosby is fighting criminal charges that he sexually assaulted former temple university employer andrea constand more than a decade ago in his pennsylvania home. in court a former detective read a statement that constand gave police

she had happened the night of the alleged assault. cosby invited her to dinner and offering her wine and unspecified pills. he urged me to take them. constand told the detectives the pills made her dizzy. i got scared. i thought i was having a bad reaction to something. i had no strength in my legs. in constand's account, cosby then started inappropriately touching her under her shirt and pant as she slipped in and out of consciousness. she told the detectives when she came to that my bra was over my breasts, up by my neck. in a statement, cosby gave to police in 2005, that was referenced in court, he admitted sexual contact occurred but said it was consensual. his defense attorney calls constand's story inconsistent and said it lacked credibility. >> the evidence presented today in a montgomery courtroom confirms that cosby is not guilty. >> reporter: the only case against cosby but multiple on

accusing cosby of sexual misconduct. cosby has repeatedly denied them all. some of those accusers could potentially be called to testify in the andrea constand case. >> this case could be won or left based on whether other women are allowed to speak at this trial. >> reporter: heidi thomas could be one of them. >> this is our case. i don't get a chance to face him in court for me. so andrea constand is doing it for all of us, myself included. >> the judge has set an arraignment day for july 20th. so-called muscle cars may be known for their speed and the cool factor. but how are they with safety? for the first time ever, the insurance institute for highway safety ran three top selling muscle cars through a series of crash tests. the 2016 chevy camaro and dodge challenger. none of them performed well enough

heading into arkansas. still bad weather out there but as far as the damaging weather hopefully, it's about to be done. 17 million people at risk today, under that, from texas back up north wards right through portions of the midwest and into the northern plains. the storm threat today, tornado threat on the lower end. a few will be possible but not like yesterday. we are expecting a lot of hail and wind reports. minneapolis, sioux falls and back to kansas city late tonight and heading toward st. louis and a few storms around oklahoma city. the heat is just like, that we flipped the switch in the east. 90 degrees possible in new york city for the first time this season and 85 in cleled aveland 84 in chicago and in thursday 88 in d.c. you couldn't buy an 80-degree day in d.c. and now you're going to have numerous ones in a row. in the west, the opposite. the chill continues. that is your national weather. now a closer look at your day ahead.

albuquerque police were dressed in riot gear and used smoke on crowds of people after some protesters hurled rocks and bottles at police officers and their forces. the trump campaign senior adviser called the protesters thugs and punks on twitter. overnight, we learned one person was arrested and several officers were hurt. hillary clinton struggled at points to take over protesters at her rally last night in riverdale, california. protesters interrupted her multiple times, at one point prompting her to respond to people and calling them allergic to the facts. donald trump is within 30 delegates of officially taking the republican nomination for president. he won the gop in washington state. >> here's where it gets
