it is moving 14 miles west. it will most likely max out at 40 miles per hour. it is not a lot of wind. it is not a lot of rain. for folks at the beaches, this could lead to dangerous rip currents. it will strengthen into a tropical storm. it will make landfall at some point between charleston, south carolina and myrtle beach. then it will turn and go out to sea. it will pump moisture in the northeast. especially the interior northeast where we could see 1 to 3 inches of rainfall. in new york city, we could see spotty showers early monday morning. we are watching the storms through the plains. we are clearing out of texas. we do still have the chance of some isolated stronger storms. it is a marginal risk from the great lakes through texas. it could be spotty. isolated damaging winds and hail. any tornadoes are not widespread. tomorrow, gearing up for the next round. in ama

san diego. to breaking news overnight. a small world war ii vintage plane crashed into the hudson river killing the pilot. officials are still trying to figure out what went wrong on board. ray vieta is here from other affiliate wnbc is here with more. >> reporter: good morning, sheinelle. investigators are on the water. we know the identity of the pilot. 56-year-old william gordon. something went wrong. the plane circled and smoked and then crashed in the hudson river. the moment of impact caught on tape. >> all of a sudden, it hit the water and in seconds it went down. >> reporter: a vintage world war ii plane, a p-37 thunder bolt. crashed into the hudson river friday night off the edge of manhattan. >> the pilot come up. all of a sudden, the plane went down and he never came up. >> we saw it splashing into the water.

disappeared. >> reporter: the coast guard and fire and rescue from new york and new jersey scrambling to the scene. a good samaritan from a passing sailboat jumped into the river to help, but unfortunately, the one seater plane went under quickly. the search for the pilot went through the night. causing confusion for the rescuers and public. >> new jersey state police put something out he was on the way to the hospital. >> that's inaccurate. >> reporter: the plane went down close to where the airliner went down in 2009 better known as the miracle on the hudson. this story has a different ending. before 11:00 p.m. police recovered his body. the army is expected to lift the plane today. thank you. the tsa is tested this weekend

containing north and south carolina addresses were confiscated last weekend alone. the time 8:18. one of the worst bribery and robbery scandals to rock the navy. three current and former navy officers charged in connection with a scheme to provide classified ship schedules in exchange for prostitutes, lavish trips and other gifts from a malaysian defense contractor. now, the contractor overbilled the navy by more than $34 million. three of the navy officers involved are from virginia. a federal appeals court says d.c. can temporarily continue to enforce its strict gun law. this comes after a lower court rumd part of the city's law to be unconstitutional. the district's law requires folks to show a "good reason to fear injury if they want a conceal to carry permit." the court will hear further arguments before making a final decision. >>
