way to avoid safetrack delays. >> the driver can drive on the extra space quicker, not sitting in the traffic, not taking the local roads, waiting in the traffic. that helps them reduce the time. >> reporter: monday will be the first weekday commute with safetrack under way. metro says to prepare for single tracking on the orange and silver lines that could impact 73,000 weekday trips. and some trains will run every 18 minutes instead of every six. that means the cars could be packed. what are you expecting tomorrow and how will this impact your commute? >> i'll probably have to bike to work now. >> reporter: the delays could force more riders off the rails and force them into uber or lyft cars which could get expensive, or put them behind the wheel, but that may be busy, too.

he was the only name added to the wall this year. the search for a 66-year-old woman in a western maryland force has a happy ending. jana estep is safe and drive after a search in the fores she became separated from her friend around 11:00 last night. they were searching for a wild vegetable. estep found her way to an emergency vehicle around 1:00 in the morning. police are looking for suspects after a man was found shot to death early this morning in temple hills. prince georges county police found 84-year-old edward payne in a parking lot on stamp road around 1:30 in the morning. payne is from the district. police do not believe this was a random crime. a $25,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest in this case. preparations are under way in louisville for the final farewell to muhammad ali. his body now back in his hometown. as nbc's

tributes are pouring in at the center that bears his name. >> reporter: homecoming, late today the body of muhammad ali arrived back in louisville as fans and mourners lined up to say so long. crowds along generations and ethnicities streamed into the ali center today, some offering personal reflections. edith says her late center went to louisville central high school with ali. this father named his oldest boy for the legend. >> for black person. >> he served his purpose that was put forth for him in this world. and he did it with grace, humility and just the utmost respect. >> reporter: the champ was also part of sunday religious services. his brother worshipped in town while the sermon at ebenezer baptist church included a flurry of ali's accomplishments.

two missing boaters has been called off. natural resources police say the men's fishing boat capsized near pointing rocks. the men went out around 5:00. the witnesses started calling 911 when they saw witnesses in the water. police say they found the boat but not the men. the search will resume tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m. right now a wildfire that's been threatening homes in a los angeles suburb is about 80% contained. many of those evacuated have been given the green light to start going home, but some of them don't have a home to go to. nbc steve patterson was there as crews rushed to keep people safe. >> reporter: tonight a battle on every front. the goal now, hold the line, stifle any smoldering threat, keep residents safe. from the sky saturday, a fire spreading quickly. a very dangerous quick-moving fire. on the ground, a race to get out. >> we heard the helicopters and i didn't think around here, i

one d.c. woman. miss district of columbia was crowned miss usa just about an hour ago in las vegas. deshauna barber is an i.t. analyst and district commander for the army in ft. mead. when asked about women in combat, she said, quote, we're just as tough as men. i am powerful. i am dedicated, end quote. this is only the third time miss d.c. has been crowned miss usa. coming up in sports, while the nats show resilience against the reds, the warriors show no mercy in the nba finals.

finally tonight, a monkey walks into a store. oh, wait, it gets better. and he walks out with $150. just look at the surveillance video. shows the monkey jumping behind the counter, this is in india, and he opens the cash drawer and pulls out a wad of cash. as soon as the guy goes to grab him or entice him with something, he just jumps over, runs out with the cash in hand. the owner tried to stop him but failed. it's not clear if this monkey was trained to steal, but the owner says he's
