major party nominee. >> for the first time hillary clinton claiming the title presumptive democratic nominee for president with wins nearly across the board last night. clinton now has a majority of delegates. >> and that is without california. as of right now, it's still too early to call the race here. 57% of the vote is in in california with clinton leading 57% to 42% there. we'll take a look at the results we do have. clinton won by a large margin in new jersey. but senator bernie sanders came close in new mexico and south dakota. the results overnight show sanders with victories in both montana and north dakota. >> now clinton says the real race begins. she's focused less on senator sander last night and set her sights instead on the fight against donald trump. >> our children and grandchildren will look back at this time at t

where nbc's tracie potts is standing by. tracey, if the election taught us anything, the sanders' voters are committed all the way. >> reporter: no question about that and that continues to be a problem for hillary clinton. they are committed to him but not to her as some polls suggested. a significant number of sanders voters are that way. of the six states that voted yesterday, he's won two of them and it's still too early to call in california where he insisted he would be competitive. so yes, a big priority in the democratic primary and the clinton campaign wants to win over those sanders voters. >> does sanders have anything to hold on to at this point? why does he continue to hold on? >> reporter: he said repeatedly he's the head of a movement here. he seems to really care about the issues that they have brought forward in this campaign as part of the reason why he's going to be meeting with president

a plane crashing into a maryland home two years ago. the pilot, two passengers and three people on the ground all died. the national transportation safety board's final report says the pilot failed to turn on crucial de-icing equipment which eventually led to the plane stalling and crashing. this particular jet had no system to warn the pilot. the ntsb recommends training to help pilots recommend icing dangers and take immediate action. ten people are now in jail due to a multiagency drug investigation. 40 kilograms of heroin was also seized with an estimated street value of $4 million. officials say they coordinated their sources in india, africa and other areas. an undercover sting leads to a body shop that was dealing in stolen goods. news4's pat

$15 an hour. muriel bowser plans to vote through the bill to higher the minimum wage that is currently at $10.50. it is still unknown what this means for businesses. >> it could be problematic nor the city in getting new businesses to come in and retaining some of the old businesses. so the jury is still out. >> tipped worker who is receive a lower minimum will also see their wages go up in d.c. from $2.77 to $5 per hour by 2020. oprah winfrey will recognize a d.c. shelter that has been serving women for 40 years tomorrow. oprah will serve as the keynote speaker at n street village annual empowerment luncheon. women who find themselves there in crisis situation won't be turned away.

if you're an outdoor runner, these are the precious few days in the summer months you can actually run without feeling the need to carry six gallons of water with you. outside this morning, already a little early morning color coming on this long summer day. it is going to be a beauty. cooler air moving in. we get to keep it for today, for tomorrow, on into friday as well. the only real knock on today, they are looking for something to complain about, it will be on the breezy side. northeast winds 20 to 25 miles per hour. the rain chances are not zero but very, very low. 20% or less. so the next couple of days really other than the breeze around, nice with plenty of sunshine. nothing to really worry about. no rain chances on thursday or friday at all. heading into saturday, there will be a 30% to 40% chance of thunderstorms. but late, late, late in the day, might even be after 7:00 to 8:00 at night. most of your outdoor plans on saturday morning and afternoon won't be affected at all. we are in the mid-50
