"early today" starts right now. thanks for joining us. i'm betty nguyen. all eyes on bernie sanders as members of the democratic party urge him to unite behind hillary clinton following her resounding primary win. sander returned to his hometown burlington, vermont, last night where he meets with white house staff later today and scheduled to meet with president obama later this morning. here is what president obama said in an interview with jimmy fallon which is set to air tonight. >> it was an ultimate thing for the democratic party to have a contest primary. i thought that bernie sanders brought enormous energy and new ideas. he pushed the party and challenged them. i thought it made hillary a better candidate. my hope is over the next couple of weeks, we are able to pull things together and what happens during primaries, you get a little ouchy. everybody does. i think -- i think we are going to have a great convention and we will do well. >> sander will a

senate leader harry reid before holding a washington, d.c. rally ahead of next week's final democratic primary. reuters is reporting that elizabeth warren is eyeing a clinton endorsement sometime next week. the news outlet reports that while not currently interested in serving as her running mate, warren has not ruled it out according to several sources. now that comes amid reports senator reid has been privately lobbying as warren for clinton's vp. hillary clinton spoke to the country's leading papers and reaffirmed her fight against trum said she would be using trump's words against him. she is calling his comments against judge gonzolo. >> he can run a campaign of insultship. i'm running a campaign of issues that is producing results for the american people. i'm going to talk about why he is unqualified to be president based on his own words and his ed

action after a man begins dragging her 13-year-old daughter away. meanwhile the off-duty suspect who helped nab the suspect is speaking out. nbc kerry sanders has the story. >> reporter: parents live in fear of what you're watching. a stranger grabs a 13-year-old girl and tries to drag her out of a dollar store, all caught on store security cameras. the teenager's mom heroically fights to get her daughter free. the man keeps dragging and he finally gives up and runs out of the store. the suspect 30-year-old craig bonello is in custody charged with kidnapping and child abuse. bonello was captured because moments after he ran out the front door of the dollar store here, in walked off-duty deputy john boehnen. >> started yelling at me he just tried to kidnap a girl. >> reporter: a bystander st
