increased vigilance throughout the campus. the man charged with keeping your food safe says the fda often takes too long to issue recalls. the agency inspector general looked at 30 recent food recalls. the report found the fta did not have appropriate policies in place for timely voluntary recalls. the report also found the fda did not advise its staff to give food companies deadlines. the fda says it acts quickly in the majority of cases and is now establishing a review team. match making app tinder will soon be available for those over 18 years old only. according to the company starting next week, only adults will be able to sign into the dating app. currently a user has to be 13 years old to access and use the app. 13-year-olds are on tinder? the app has two separate community, one for those age 13 to 17 and another for 18 and up. the problem is can you really figure out who is on which community.

attempted rape. metro police say it happened on a red line train. the victim says 39-year-old john hicks held her at knifepoint and tried to rape her. the woman says he forced her to perform a sex act on him. police say he may also be responsible for an unrelated sex assault in montgomery county. you didn't give any of us a chance to speak. >> parents make their frustrations clear at a meeting about transgender students at fairfax county public schools. >> last year the board agree heed to include transgender students in its thon discrimination policy. parent who's possess the plan say they didn't get proper notice about the agenda and couldn't sign up to speak last night. the policy includes allowing students to use the bathroom of their choice. >> to me it is a big deal. i recently went on a field trip with my class and i wasn't even allowed to use the

markeater holyroyd was driving down south 15th street when a man drove up behind her, threw something at her car and then cursed at her. arlington police say that man was 55-year-old timothy dubois. once the two were stopped at a red light, dubois got out of his car, head her and pulled her out her car and kept hitting her while her 11-year-old son watched. >> and then he took my hair and he began to, you know, bang it on my truck. and so my son was screaming get off my mom, get off my mom, get off my mom. >> holyroyd says during the struggle, dubois bit her finger and drew blood. two men pulled him off of her. dubois was charged with malicious wounding, assault and battery and driving under the influence. eastbound lanes of the connector after exit 3 are back open this morning after a terrible motorcycle crash last night. it shut down part of the road there. maryland transportation authorities police say one person was taken to the hospil

police are looking into what caused the crash. a brush fire in arizona so bad that fema has already okayed disaster assistance. this was a story we started covering earlier this week. we understand now there have been more than 1300 acres scorched. there have been hundreds of people evacuated from their homes. if you know where phoenix is in arizona, this is about 60 miles northwest of that area. this is the tenderfoot fire as it's being called. and again, fema, new information this morning, has already okayed disaster funding for that area. at the live desk, i'm erika gonzalez. your time is 5:15. we're following a developing story in nicaragua. a 6.1 magnitude earthquake that may have caused some damage. so far we have not heard whether anyone or anything is hurt, but earthquakes of that size can be dangerous. the quake hit near the we were coast of nicaragua.

investigators found child pornography videos in his home. police say a man exposed himself to a teen girl as she walked to a bus stop. this is a sketch the suspect. it happened in the alexandria section. a car pulled up next to the team and she saw the driver expose himself. he drove off and the teen immediately told a parent who told police. d.c. police are getting out into the community to see neighbors from a different point of view. they met with people who live in ward 7 last night for what they are calling a walk and talk. neighbors and officers toured their community on foot pointing out problems and safety concerns. one mother we spoke to says it is exactly what they need. >> i'm relieved that our neighborhood is getting the attention especially in the ward that we live in with the crime right couldskyrocketing three t what it was last year. >> on sunday a teen was shot to death j

night's walk. a man from northern virginia faces decades in prison for aiding isis. yesterday mohamed jamal khweis made his first court appearance this alexandria. he told a tv station that he joined isis last december but decided to defect months ago. he's charged with providing term support to isis, it carries a sentence of up to 20 years in prison and $250,000 fine. the transit agency is adding to its customer service team to provide faster real time responses on social media. metro says it hired four new staffers to answer questions and provide are more frequent service updates. metro's safetrack program will alter commutes on the rails over the next year. and today marks the end of the first week under metro's safetrack program. prince george's county has announced its plans for the next surge which begins june 18. surge two will shut down the blue, orange and silver lines
