a dispute over firewood. back to you. it is 4:35. turning now to the latest on what we know about the shooter omar mateen. the fbi is investigating whether he visited the pulse night club before the attack. agents are also looking into claims that he tried to communicate with some of the club patrons on the dating app grinder. an fbi official tells nbc news that they are looking into the claims, but they don't know what to make of them. >> we continue to learn more about the victims killed in that attack. all of them full of life, enjoying a night full of dancing before the unthinkable happened. for one mother, it was an agonizing 30 hour, she didn't know if her son escaped the gunfire, but late last night, she was notified that her son did not make it. >> he died on the floor of the club. that's what they said. my heart wanted him alive and

chief today. edward, good morning. >> reporter: yesterday he met with fbi director and secretary of homeland security and attorney general about the investigation in orlando. today he's going to meet with his national security council. they will update him again on terror links with the orlando attacks, but also give a plan to go forward on how to defeat isil. that meeting happens at about 10:30 this morning just after that meeting, the president is expected to speak to the nation. we should have more information as to exactly what he plans to do to twedefeat isil. the president is concerned about their at to recute folks in the united states over social media and not even have direct exact with those people. >> and the presidential hopefuls are adjusting their messages, too. anything to look out for in those messages? >> reporter: hillary clinton came out, used very strong language last night. she would like to see a ban on assault rifles. she also
