photograph the wreckage, locate the black boxes and then bring them to the surface. the cockpit voice recorder will contain the conversations between the pilots inside the cockpit, the flight data recorder should contain more than 1,000 pieces of information on the plane's performance and any technical issues. hopefully, that data will help investigators determine if it was a bomb that brought down the plane or some sort of serious mechanical issue. the last automated messages indicated overheat and smoke warnings and then flight computer failure. this is still very much a mystery. finding the black boxes will be critical. >> race against time it sounds like. tom costello, thank you. today on capitol hill, lawmakers are focused on isis and cia director john brennan says isis militants are training and planning to deploy operatives to more attacks on the west, relying more on guerrilla-style tactics.
