two very serious crashes, one of them deadly. right now montgomery police look into the possibility the crashes are related. >> megan mcgrath is live along randolph road in silver spring. what happened? >> reporter: these two accidents happened a minute apart, and the second accident happening literally down the street from the deadly happen you see behind me on randolph road. whether the two are connected in any way, we just don't know. let's start with the first crash and it happened before 7:00 this morning. it was a little before 7:00, and the police say the toyota was going east on randolph road prior to lockly lane. th's

vehicle went upside down and flipped on to its roof, and there's one person inside and that person was pronounced dead on the scene. a witness says he saw a car, quote, fly by him, and then heard the crash. a woman at a house next door said it was just horrible, and didn't want to go on camera, but did describe the damage. >> it's unrecognizable. it looks like it was in a car compacter. there are tires in places that are not supposed to be there, so it's amazing what the car looks like. >> reporter: a minute after the crash, this crash happened, a second accident down the street at intersection and new hampshire avenue. a black suv hit a utility pole. the driver stayed on the scene but witnesses say up to three passengers bailed out of the suv and ran away, and

caught a while later and still looking for the others and police say they did find drugs in the suv so charges are possible against some or perhaps all of the people inside that vehicle. again, in terms of the location, the fact that the two accidents were so close together and the timeframe here, that has police asking questions about possible connections, but we just don't know at this point. back to you in the studio. >> megan, thank you. more breaking news, a shooting in northwest washington. >> we are just getting new details on the shooting investigation in northwest. we have got some new video from the scene, just in. we have learned a man is in the happen after shots rang out this morning near a gas station in the 200 block of missouri avenue. this is not far from kennedy street. police tell us he was shot in the stomach but his injuries are not considered serious. he was conscience on his

totally uncontained. we know how the toddler that died at the disney resort died. the 2-year-old drown and had traumatic injuries after an alligator drug him off, and officials are trying to find the one that grabbed the boy. beaches at disney world is closed and disney will put up signs warning of alligators and other wildlife. authorities say 3-year-old went into cardiac arrest after he stayed in a hot car that was locked. police say he may have climbed into the parked car to get a toy, and the family immediately called 911 and started cpr when they found him and the investigation is ongoing. a maryland judge upheld a controversial suspension in anne arundel schools.

goodson waived his right to testify and the prosecution has no further witnesses and the defense rested its case, and closing arguments scheduled for monday, and barry williams will be deciding the trial without a jury and he may do that on monday or tuesday, and he usually likes to take a day to think what he will do. and one of the witnesses for goodson was officer nero, and he testified on april 12th, 2015, freddie gray was not cooperative when he was loaded into the police transport wagon, he started banging violently, screaming, shaking the wagon, and the inference is that freddie gray
