jackie bensen, news 4. new at le11:00, we learned man is behind bars that teaches in an elementary school. he teaches at langley park mccormack elementary school. prince georges county police busted him on tuesday night. he faces prostitution and human trafficking charges after investigators say he solicited a prostitute and rented a room used for prostitution. the search continues for a missing 9-year-old girl, sofia proctor. she was last seen on the 1,000 block of 14th street in northwest d.c. she was wearing a white dress, white sweater, white head band an silver shoes. investigators believe she's with her mother julia proctor seen in the smaller photo there. proctor was driving a 1998 volvo.

police. huge water woes tonight in alexandria. thanks to this, a water main broke shooting out water for hours tonight. hundreds are without water all together. shomari stone is joining us with how homeowners will have to deal with this problem and how it could impact your commute. >> that's right. police are suggesting that people stay away from edsall road and south. a lot of people have been going to the store to purchase bottled water because they have no water at home. they are draining water out of the massive hole that could easily swallow a car. there are two valves that are broken, a water main broken. it all needs fixed. so the people here will get their water restored. as for what happened, it is quite a sight to see. let's take a look. raging waters on edsall road rusho

after a water main breaks. clarence lives nearby. >> all the water looking like a river running down and come outside and see a sinkhole literally two or three cars could fit in. >> clarence along with hundreds of people in the neighborhood are waterless on a hot day. >> you can't take a shower. so, you know, it's a big scene right now. >> reporter: virginia mayor says the main that is 50 to 100 years old broke gushing water like rapids for 3 1/2 hours. crews are working to turn it off while parents and children watch the powerful force. >> i've never seen anything like it. >> they pulled over and got out of their car. >> i was worried an scared because i have no idea what is going on. we were trying to get that way and so much traffic so we had to make a u-turn. >> i never seen anything like it. i have seen a water main break before, but this is like white water rapis.

that's important for our storm system. if we are able to get warm air in to the region, we have a better chance of severe weather. 76 quantico. 75 fredericksburg. 64 to frederick , maryland. the clear skies back to the west. here's the storm system in the chicago area. we will watch it closely. on this track, you can actually track it down. it would move to the south of d.c. and in to northern virginia. that's what i'm watching. severe weather threat for today in to early tomorrow morning. a moderate threat and that's a very high threat on this scale. severe weather including tornados. for us in the slight risk. that means we have a chance of strong to severe storms in the area through 8:00 tomorrow morning. tomorrow afternoon, the slight risk shifts to the entire region during the

we have not one but two chances of storms. the biggest threat will be strong winds and could be here as you wake up tomorrow. make sure to give yourself plenty of extra time. future weather as i mentioned nothing going on at 11:00. by 4:00, five o'clock in the morning, seeing the rain come in and by 7:00 here's the strong storms with heavy rain. around 9:00 a.m., from southern maryland to northern virginia, north of d.c., maybe not a lot. the heaviest stuff to the south. we could be dealing with warnings tomorrow morning. chuck bell will be in tomorrow. make sure you tune in to news 4 for the latest on that. 12:00 we get out of this. afternoon not bad. i think we will see some sun and then the front comes through and look at the strong to severe storms tomorrow night. we could have not one but two different waves of storms. the threat tomorrow, high winds, hail and flash flooding could be out there. this is something we will be watching overnight tonight and all day tomorrow.
