county and bizarre incident in d.c. where a car drove in to a hole right on wisconsin avenue. >> first tonight, reports of several people shot in a home in district heights. this call came in around 9:45 tonight. jackie bensen just arrived at the scene. >> reporter: there is a deeply disturbing, unsettling crime scene here just down the street on other leans avenue, just off of marlboro pike. an hour ago a call came in to 911 where someone reported that everyone in a house had been shot. we hear there were neen people in the home and what we can tell you at this point, two people have been take on the the hospital from this scene. it's a very active scene. homicide detectives are arriving here as we speak. we do not have a lot of updated information from the prince

department. again, what we are hearing right now, police received a call saying everyone inside of a home had been shot. when they arrived they found multiple shooting victims. two people at this time have been transported to the hospital from the scene. when we get more information, we will bring it to you live. jackie bensen, news 4. another breaking story tonight in the germantown area. five people injured, including three children, in a serious crash on clopper road near great seneca highway. this is a picture tweeted out by montgomery county fire and rescue. they tell us three people were hurt seriously, but the scene has been cleared in just the last few minutes. we're working to get more information about a person getting hit and killed by a train in manassas. it happened on the tracks near godwin drive. prince william county police confirmed one person died

before 9:00 tonight. they are still investigating the circumstances. a friday night out for one couple but it didn't go as expected. look at this. their car sank in to a hole. this is on wisconsin avenue near tenley town after a metal plate on the road gave way. vdot says it was there as part of a pepco project. either the road gave way next to it or under that metal plate. one lane is shut down while crews are making repairs. the car got towed away not long ago. >> situations like this shouldn't happen. >> on a main road. >> it is wisconsin avenue, major traffic going in and out of the city. hopefully they can get it taken care of. >> reporter: no one was hurt. the couple in the car was able to get out. we don't know when the road will open again. we are getting new pictures from west virginia tonight of the massive destruction left behind by all of the flooding. >> we also just got an update from emergency management offic

our chris lawrence has the latest information at our live desk. >> the death toll unfortunately jumped again. we know at least 23 people have been killed in record flooding. as part of water recedes look at what is left behind cars flipped over, neighborhoods washed away. officials say they can't begin to count the number of homes that have been destroyed. in the last 30 minutes, crews finish building a temporary road in elk view allowing more than 500 people to escape a mall after a road collapsed an stranded them on the other side. cops, firefighters, national guard troops, even the coast guard are all out there trying to rescue as many people as they hang. they are using a combination of boats, helicopters, ropes nearby to help people get off of roofs or out of cars. >> they managed to rescue a woman trapp

shooting geer in 2013. since torres served ten months with good behavior he could be out in a couple of weeks. prosecutors say they made the deal because they didn't want geer's children to have to testify. >> if i went out and shot somebody i would never see the light of day. >> it would have been hard on the children. i guess i could say i put them ahead of anne geer's opinion. >> he is moving ahead with his life and that's the best thing that can happen. >> the death did lead to new police training and policy changes in fairfax county. now officers that are involved in incidents involving force must have their names released within ten days. d.c. police arrested a teenager accused of sell telling his ex girlfriend he would shoot up her home and school. the 17-year-old was busted last nigh. officers searched his home after he allegedly sent text

president obama reassuring britain and americans some ties won't break. >> one thing that will not change is the special relationship that exists between our nations. >> reporter: the news made britain's currency and then stocks globally fall. google reported a sudden uptick in the search question what happens if we leave? the answer no one knows after a vote turned britain and the european union on its head. president obama is designating the stone wall inn in new york as a national monument, the first to honor gay rights. back in 1969, the tavern became the site of an uprising in greenwich village after the nypd raided it, which a lot of people view as the start of the gay rights movement. the monument will protect seven acres of land in manhattan and will be dedicated on monday. after nearly 40 years of service to alexandria, the city's top cop calling it

earl cook has been the police chief for the last seven years and presided over a lot of cases including the arrest and conviction of charles severance. he grew up in alexandria and the first african-american in the city's history to serve as police chief. his retirement takes effect october 1st. players and parents are concerned about what they call the terrible conditions on a football field in prince georges county. they say the turf battle is putting students at risk. some football players at northwestern high in hyattsville tell us they are forced to play on a field made up of dirt and they are being injured on it. according to a maryland house bill, the school was supposed to get an artificial turf field. the students plan to hold a rally monday night. prince georges county public schools did not respond to our request for comment. still to come tonight, a virginia toddler bitten by a poisonous snake in his backyard and the anti-venom is costing his family more than they can pay.

heights and jackie bensen has an update on the shooting. five people in one house. >> reporter: we can tell you prince georges county police have confirmed three people are dead here. a total of five people shot. two transported to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries after a call came in just before 10:00 tonight. someone reported that someone had entered a home here in the 3200 block of orleans avenue in district heights and shot everyone in the house. obviously there is an expetensi scene here. but very large scene here after five people, five people shot in a home. police sadly confirm to us at this hour that two of them are dead. live in district heights, jackie bensen, news 4. >> thank you. we will have more on news 4 today tomorrow morning. coming
