minutes. >> we will check in with you then. thanks. coming up on 6:02. a developing story out of prince george's county. five people shot, three dead. this happened around 9:30 off marlboro pike. among those that died two women and a man. at last check the fourth victim is in critical condition. the fifth is stable. no word how the five victims could be related and there is no suspect information to release at this time. police do not believe, though, this was a random act. another story out of germantown. five injured including three children on a serious clash on clapper road near great seneca highway. it happened in montgomery county last night. these pictured tweeted out of the scene. three of the people are seriously hurt. both rouds 117 and 119 were closed during the investigation. right now all lanes have

guards members are on their way to help out in west virginia where the death toll there continues to rise following powerful floodwaters that tore across the state. you can see some of the aftermath there. nearly entire neighborhoods swallowed by that rising water. thousands remain without power this morning. nbc's rob manns spoke with flood victims in need of basic supplies. >> reporter: here in sommer county, west virginia, where the water of the greenbrier river rose more than 20 feet during thursday's storm, dozens forced to evacuate. >> see that plate? up to there when it started going oun. >> reporter: pastor mark bale has been hearing the stories since the rain began. >> devastation. >> reporter: bale says with emergency crews tied up he began to make calls to try to find help. >> coordinating with other churches and other denominations to really just see

this crew and said they could come today. i said, well, if you could come, yeah, we would like you. >> reporter: just a day after the crew began the pit crew dropped off a tractor trailer of supplies going towards helping overwhelmed shelters stay stocked. >> some people came through that slept in their car last night. had animals and children with them. they slept in their cars and some people haven't been able to return to their homes a the all to see what's there. >> reporter: bale says as he and other volunteers begin to help the victims of this storm, he's grateful for the helping hand coming all the way from danville, west virginia. >> a hard go with the economy and with the flood, that much worse. to know there are people out there to help us is very comforting. >> rob manns report. the investigation into a fatal train cash in manassas continues this morning. this happened on the tracks near wellington road west

manassas amtrak and that vre station. last night prince william county police confirmed one person has died. investigators are still trying to figure out how this happened. >> imagine this -- driving down the street, all of a sudden the road opens up and the car drops. the couple in this car you're about to see weren't sure what happened until they got out and saw a metal plate gave way. this is on wisconsin avenue. ddot says the plate was part of a project in temperatulytown. >> luckily it stopped. once it stopped i saw we could get out and smelled gas. got out of the car. >> could have been a lot worse. the car towed away. not clear how badly it was damaged. questions whether d.c. is doing enough to help preschoolers with special needs. according to "the washington post" the city is

we are back at 6:10. this morning, falls church police charging a lunch lady for stealing from students. she allegedly stole thousands of dollars from elementary students' accounts. this took place over a three-year period from the elementary school, and police only began their investigation last week after a school system supervisors discovered discrepancies in several accounts. she's charged with three counts of embezzlement and has been suspended from work without pay. if you haven't gotten your mega millions ticket yet, don't freak out. you still have until tuesday for a shot at the jackpot, which, by the way, is at $390 million. >> wow. >> no one matched all six numbers in friday night's drawing for the $363 million prize, but four tickets sold matched five numbers. so that means one of

found at the home. both victims were transported to a local trauma center. still no word on their condition and police are still looking for a possible suspect. happening today, ddot hosts its first public meeting to kick off the stud any ward 7. kicks off at 10:30 until 1:00. neighbors learn more about the study on the community's quality of life, improvements to transportation, safety, connections to destinations and sustainability. a teen who police say threatened to shoot his ex-girlfriend and opened fire inside her school was arrested by d.c. police. the 17-year-old was taken in thursday night. officers searched his home last week after he allegedly sent text messages to his ex-girlfriend saying he would kill her and her family. police found an ac 47 and more than 180 rounds of ammunition. the victim attends eleanor roosevelt high school in green belt.

reporting the threat likely saved lives. they have not released the suspects's name because he's a juvenile. a former dunbar track coach will spend the next 17 years in prison. he was sentenced friday. he pleaded glts toy seven counts of sexual abuse earlier this year. young admitted to abusing seven boys on the d.c. school's campus between 2012 and 2014. a are toer fairfax county police officer adam torres, was sentenced to a year in prison for killing john geer in 2013. but despite the sentence on friday, torres will get out in a couple of weeks on good behavior, because he has already spent ten months in jail. geer's family says the sentence is an insult. it was the result of a plea deal that prosecutors say was key to keeping geer's children often of the witness stand. >> if i went out and shot somebody, i would never see the light of day. >> it's pretty hard on those children and so i guess i could

geer's opinion. >> geer's death led to new police training and policy changing in fairfax county. officers involved must have their names released within ten day. heads up if in mclean and pass near the tyson or greensboro metro stations. seeing a lot of emergency vehicles and first responders between those stations, part of a quarterly drill conducted throughout the region and the green station closed until 2:00 in the afternoon. if you're signed up for the metro alerts they'll let you know when it reopens. metro is running free shuttle buses to replace the silver line service in that area. the u.s. national whitewater center in charlotte has temporarily shut down water activities after a teen died from a brain eating amoeba. lauren seitz died sunday a few days after rafting

he did a week ago. his eyes gladshot from crying. three days in the hospital. all from a snake bite. the little boy's mom telling me she was about a foot way from her son as he was out playing in the yard last week. he made an effort to step over a brick, and then flinched. >> i thought that he scratched his foot on something so i went to pick him up, and when i picked him up i looked down to see what he scratched his foot on and i didn't see anything there. >> reporter: the kemp family is visiting relatives, and over facetime the mom told me she noticed blood and the foot starting to swell. so they rushed to the hospital. >> when we got there they confirmed it was a copperhead bite. >> reporter: and eventually transferred him to fairfax and treated him with anti-venom. the family didn't have health insurance. >> regardless of how much debt, obviously, we just wanted him to be okay. >> reporter: as auden's aunt posted in gofundme, the costs
