breaking news in just a moment but first a long legal drama could be coming to an end. former virginia governor bob mcdonnell was once a rising star in the republican party but his conviction threatened to send him to jail. the highest court in the land may have the final say. darcy? >> reporter: that's right. this could be the beginning of a very drawn out battle continuously. in january of 2014, the mcdonnells were indicted. in 2014 they were convicted. in january he was sentenced to two years in prison. the same july of that year the conviction was upheld. the justices here are expected to make their decision sometime

tomorrow. the u.s. supreme court set to decide the fate of former virginia governor bob mcdonnell. a decision that could leave him going to prison or maintaining his freedom. he and his wife were convicted on corruption charges. they have remained free while the appeal made it to the highest court in the land after the supreme court heard the case in april. mcdonnell said he had done nothing wrong. >> during my 38 years i never did anything that would abuse the powers of my office. >> reporter: he argued that he gave what amounted to political courtesies to johnny williams and help promote his dietary supplement business, critics say the acceptance of gifts amounted to bribery. many are wondering what the impact of the deathf

rally in sacramento. as many as seven people were stabbed. protesters crashed the rally. >> reporter: a raucous rally here as protesters threw projectiles a the building. they smashed the glass and shouted vulgarities at a group that had a permit to be here. several people were hospitalized with stab wounds. we found this knife left behind on the south steps of the capital. >> this is crazy somebody just got stabbed. it's real. it's a real fight. you know, there's nothing exaggerated about it. >> reporter: the injured are to be members of the traditional workers party. fighting discrimination against whites. also injured today this

we are less than four months from the november election. hillary clinton has a five-point lead over donald trump. today clinton broke her silence on brexit while the trump campaign defended his comments on the uk leaving the eu. >> hillary clinton marched in the gay pride parade today. and in indiana speaking out about britain's decision to leave the eu. clinton using the moment to paint volatile trump as a volatile leader without mentioning him by name. >> bombastic event and turbulent times can cause more turbulence and to put the interest of the american people ahead of their personal business interests. >> reporter: the clinton campaign has been lambasting trump for suggesting in scotland this weekend the market

new at 11:00, scary moments at a theme park in scotland after a roller coaster derailed. somebody pulled out their phone and took video of the chaotic aftermath. ten people including eight kids were hurt. witnesses say the coaster went off the rails,
