court could send bob mcdonnell to jail or kick off a new trial. prosecutors say the gifts and loans that mcdonnell and his wife accepted in exchange for promoting a businessman's products amount to bribery. they were first invited in january 2014. a jury convicted them in the fall and sentencing happened in january of 2015. the republican has appealed his conviction before, but it was upheld last summer. the justices are also expected to announce their decision in a charge debate over abortion laws in texas. they will decide whether new requirements on abortion providers create a burden on women that rises to the level of unconstitutionality. some argue parts of the law are too restrictive and force clinics across the state to close. the man shot and arrested by secret service near the white house faces a preliminary hearing today. court documents say that jesse oliveri told a s

office that he came to d.c. to shoot people last month. he was shot by an agent after investigators say he approached a white house checkpoint holding a gun. he faces 20 years in prison if convicted. police are looking for this man. he's accused of stabbing a special police officer at the giant on alabama avenue in southeast. it happened when somebody notified the officer about a suspected thief. the officer confronted the man who then pulled out a knife and stabbed him. call police if you have any information that could help locate this suspect. at the live desk, following the very latest in the brexit fallout, we know that millions have now signed a petition in the uk calling for a redo of the reference dux. more than 3 million in fact. although, it may get a hearing in parliament. it is not expected to result in an eu reversal. this as more calls from the opposition party in parliament to step down.

replace david cameron after he resigned following that vote. and it is 5:05. developing this morning, all eyes will be on the stock market after the uk's decision to exit the european union. the dow jones plunged more than 600 points at the end of trading on friday. futures point to more losses today, but it is possible there will be a repeat of friday's sell-off when big global markets open today. in the day ahead, d.c.'s mayor will officially raise the minimum wage again. she will sign the $15 minimum wage bill tonight. under the bill, tipped workers will receive their wages rise to $5.50 an hour. it will happen gradually by 2020 and increases will move with inflation after that. also today a push to get d.c. residents to get tested for

a jetliner on fire moments after making an emergency landing. a passenger recorded this video as the wing was on fire here. this happened in singapore. the pilot actually turned the plane around after the engine's oil warning light came on. once it landed, the engine caught fire. none of the passengers was hurt. ten people were hurt at a white supremacist rally outside the state capital of sacramento. 30 members and 400 counterprotesters. seven people were stabbed there. their all expected to survive. a cameraman and reporter were assaulted by counterprotesters who said they didn't want cameras at the event. no one has been arrested so far. heavy rain could add more devastation to flooded communities in west virginia today. 20 counties are under

wheel jumped the curb and hit multiple people at the los angeles taco stand last night. ten people in total were hurt and three were taken to the hospital. police subeen a factor in this . in colorado, five people from one family are dead after an amtrak train collided with their minivan. this happened yesterday morning as the family was driving to church. our colorado affiliate says the minivan did not stop for the train. the front of the train collided with the right side of the van. three children and their parents died. one four-year-old girl survived and was airlifted to the hospital. no one on the train was hurt. as many of you get ready to hit the road for the fourming holiday, here's a look at gas prices in our area. the cost for a regular tank of gas in d.c. is $2.54 right now. slightlyigher than last month. $2 .13 is the average in virginia and $2.28 in maryland.

they found a man shot. he's taken to the hospital and is in stable condition. d.c. police are investigating a shoot in east. it happened sun evening on ridge road. a man was found suffering from a gunshot wound. we're told that he was conscious and breathing when medics arrived. a neighborhood commissioner in southeast d.c. is furious after gunfire erupted near her home. this happened saturday night into sunday not far from rfk stadium. one woman was hit by a bullet there but is expected to be okay. bullets damaged cars near 17th and independence in southeast. front and rear windshields were shattered there. anc commissioner denise krepp said she's tired of the violence. >> they hit an individual and manage to destroy cars and terrorized my neighbor. we're looking somebody wasn't killed. >> she plans to meet with the

crime problem. a driver is recovering from a rollover crash. he flipped the car near massachusetts avenue last night. no word on what caused the crash. a man is okay after crashing his car into a retention pond along the beltway. take a look at the car there. maryland state police say he went off the road early sunday morning near route 202 in landover. a toe truck pulled the car out. geese causing a nuisance in montgomery county parks will soon be food for the homeless. the county plans to euthanize 150 geese at two parks. the birds will be processed and meat donated to the maryland food bank. the county says geese feces are a big problem in the parks. it can impact water quality. there is a new way to pay tribute to a young prince william county police officer killed on the job.

as you can see, police still on the scene, wrapping up their investigation as they are taking down the yellow tape, and some of the police cars starting to move away. we have video of that tow truck taking the car away. we'll get that up as soon as we can turn it around here. police now wrapping up their investigation into this head-on collision here at the scene. we know one person died. one person is in the hospital. still no idea what led up to this head-on crash that happened about 10:45 last night on 295 here, just before you get to the south capital street malcolm x avenue exit here. as you can see, traffic on the other side going into the city moving much better, but traffic going southbound still a problem, but we expect this stretch to be reopened very shortly here.
