country. it's going to be another tough week in dallas. the community is preparing for the funerals of the five fallen police officers killed in the ambush. president obama will be in dallas on tuesday where he'll speak at a memorial service. in dallas at a church service this morning, the girlfriend of the african-american man shot by the minneapolis police officer during a traffic stop called in to address the congregation. diamond reynolds said she could instantly tell that the shooting incident would become bigger than he and herself. that shooting and another at t baton rouged sparked outrage. on "meet the press", charles ramsey said we're at a very critical point in our country's history. >> you've got too many people with this extreme rhetoric, and that is just not good for anybody. we need to come together. we need thoughtful people to sit down and engage in

but actually come up with solutions, not just finger pointing and playing the blame game. that's not helpful to anybody at all. >> ramsey currently chairs president obama's task force on community policing. and emotional church services this morning all over dallas. services at the potters house megachurch became a conversation about race relations and reconciliati reconciliation. erica gonzalez was there. >> reporter: inside the potters house sunday service was more of a town hall. bishop t.d. jakes addressing the heart hurt of his dallas community. >> i know this has been a challenging week. our faith has been tested. our love has been tested. >> on the screen, pictures of all the lives lost this week from louisiana to minneapolis and dallas.

riot gear during clashes with demonstrators. more than 100 protesters were arrested in st. paul after they pelted police with fireworks, rocks, and bricks. officers in baton rouge started taking people into custody after they refused to leave. the groups are protesting the back-to-back police shootings of . >> we go now live to a local prast. derrick ward is in the district where a rally for peace and justice just wrapped up at freedom plaza. good evening, derrick. >> reporter: i wouldn't call this a protest so much. it was indeed a rally, a spirited one that happened earlier this afternoon. hundreds of people from local church congregations gathered under flags flying at half staff. that is a sure sign of some form of national grief. we are talking about the events of the past few days and the end of last week. this was hastily organized.

it was called the stand up and take the covenant rally. it was led by faith leaders from the area, but they did have a foray into the political. they talked about the nra, the economy of the gun and the effect of the bullet. they talked about refusing to wash their hands. that means not turning a blind eye to the incidents and the issues that have come to the fore of late. and also electing politicians and backing policy that would regard police policy and bridging the gaps now that are emerging in the wake of the violence that we've seen. and while it was, again, not a protest by any measure. a lot of people felt it was needed, as we heard from this local man who came. >> it's nothing else you can do to -- for those that are sane, have the right mind. this is what we need right now. we pray and we hope that they'll slow down. >> the challenge, they say, is to continue this past this week. they think they're on

to make sure that it does encompass a peaceful bent, at least, in the days to come. we are live here on freedom plaza. back to you. a black lives matter protest at the stadium armory parking lot in southeast. the group called for policy change and holding officers accountable after a string of police involved shootings. and we're learning more about a story we first told you about last night at 11:00. police are telling us two people are dead after their car plunged into the potomac river from ohio drive. this was right near the roosevelt bridge. news4 was there as crews pulled the car out of the river early this morning. three people were in the vehicle. one managed to escape. it's still unclear as to how this happened. prince george's c

make history. mano a mano, cuba's first gay male choir, performed today in d.c. the group is currently on a tour across the u.s., and they made their u.s. television debut last week. a special day for firefighters in montgomery county. the burtonville volunteer fire department dedicated its new $1 million fire truck today. scott goldstein and ike legit were both at the ceremony. shortly after the event, the truck went out on its first call. police are looking for the man who inappropriately touched a woman at the university of maryland. this happened around 11:30 last night. a woman was walking around route 1 when a group of men approached her. one grabbed her chest. she got away and called 911. school police sent out a campus-wide alert. it wasn't too hot and humid today, but get ready, because storm team 4 is tracking another heat wave.

peaceful, beautiful person inside and out. >> this neighbor didn't want to show her face, but she wanted to share her love for her neighbor, lenice fredericks. the 62-year-old woman was found murdered in her own home in land over hills. >> senseless. just shows us that as a community, we have to be more vigilant as neighbors. >> frederick's body was discovered friday around 6:00 in the evening. police say she suffered trauma to her body. this man, 61-year-old robert crosby, was charged in the murder. he lived right next door. >> you aren't surprised to hear he was arrested for this? >> no. no. just something about him. >> reporter: i'm told crosby used to ask his neighbors to give him cigarettes, to give him money, to give him water, and sometimes, to provide electricity so he could charge his phone. eventually, some neighbors say they just told him no. fredericks commuted to a job in new york, but she was off on friday, the day she was

but more importantly, the humidity level were low, and we had a nice breeze at times throughout the day. if you like today, you'll love tomorrow. nice again tomorrow, as we look to tuesday, we'll have more clouds around. it's also going to start feeling a little bit muggy outside. heat returns to the area on thursday. all in all, though, for the upcoming workweek, into the weekend, very little rain chances in the forecast. currently, temps coming in in the 80s. 85 in washington. 84 in leesburg. 82 in gaithersburg. spectacular evening in store. here's a look at the radar right now where we are tracking dry conditions across the area. tomorrow, we'll start off the day at 71 degrees. here in washington, 60s in the suburbs. so perfect for that early morning run or bike ride. definitely need the sunglasses as you're heading into work tomorrow. have your lunch outdoors. spectacular, not too hot. 83 degrees by noon. a high tomorrow of 88 and we'll hit that at about 4:00. by 8:00 p.m., just a few clouds around. and

as far as the humidity is concerned, just about every department tomorrow, the weather is certainly going to cooperate. but as you look to tuesday, the humidity does start to build, feeling muggy outside by wednesday and thursday. it's feeling oppressive. when you factor in the mugginess on wednesday, it's going to feel a little bit warmer, and by thursday, it will start to feel like temperatures are near 100 degrees during the afternoon hours with the heat and humidity. so we are tracking another heat wave that looks to begin on thursday. so your evening outlook. tomorrow night, perfect. have dinner outdoors, fire up the grill. tuesday, a little bit humid. maybe an isolated shower. but for the most part if you have plans tuesday evening, i think you'll be just fine. wednesday, scattered thunderstorms are looking likely. by thursday, it's hot and muggy, and we could be dealing with isolated thunderstorms thursday, later in the day. i want to show you future weather on tuesday. just to show you the cloud cover. we're going to have on shore flow. so we'll have winds out of the
