king elementary school. megan mcgrath is live on the scene now with more. what's going on? >> reporter: well, six hours later, you can see that police are still here on the scene, the side of the building that you see there that is martin luther king elementary school. right around midnight, a shot spotter in the area picked up gunfire in the area of sixth and alabama. when police arrived, they saw an suv with five people inside. when they arrived, the people inside that vehicle immediately opened fire on the responding officers. police fired back. no one was hit. five people in the suv, though, were eventually taken into custody and are being talked to by police. still an active investigation here on the scene. back to you. >> thank you. in a few hours, president obama will leave the white house for dallas, texas, to help lead the nation in honoring the lives of five officers killed in last week's tragedy there.
