how things are looking there this morning. >> reporter: it is very busy this morning. this is the southwest terminal. that's the entrance to the terminal. you can see the line is starting to go beyond the doors there. it stretches all the way down, all the way to the other end there. so a lot of people waiting in line here this morning as they try to make their flights. there were hundreds of flights that were canceled because of this computer glitch and people are scrambling to get where they need to go here today. scrambling to get additional flights. some are just leaving this morning and encountering these large crowds. here's what happened in a nut shell. they had a computer glitch. that's what caused all the problems. there was a shut down of ion line service. about 1 -- 700 flights were delayed or canceled yesterday. they are allowing for flexible rebooking but there's a lot of competition for those flights. so people who had their flights canceled, they are all competing for seats on other flights that are headed out today.

boos after senator ted cruz did not endorse donald trump. he offered his congratulations to the gop nominee, but told delegates to vote their conscience in november. vote your conscience. vote for candidates up and down the ticket who you trust to defend our freedom. and to be faithful to the constitution. you can hear the boos from the audience cht the delegates frustration stretched beyond the texas senator. some people in the crowd yelled at his wife as she left the convention floor. you can see security guards had to escort mrs. cruz safely out of the arena. the texas senator was all but drowned out when he asked for god's blessing on the country and left the stage. donald trump says he's not surprised by senator cruz's address. in a tweet, he said wow, ted cruz got

doctor stage, didn't honor the pledge. i saw his speech two hours early but let him speak anyway. no big deal. hillary clinton tweeted vote your conscience and that included a link to her website. delegates pouring out of the convention hall last night were split over cruz's address. chris lawrence caught up with them. >> i think ted cruz of giving a campaign speech and i think it was inappropriate. i think he's running for president in 2020. >> a delegate from colorado offered a different take. he said the problem last night wasn't with the senator from texas. >> it's troubling to me that so many in the crowd actually booed someone who articulated the conservative principles in the manner that he did. >> the delegate from colorado says he's been a long time supporter from senator cruz. he placed second in the delegate count earning about 475 votes compared to

he will be in court for a status here today. and happening today in the city of baton rouge, they will remember the officers shot and killed last sunday. state, local, and federal officials are expected to attend a public nondenominational memorial service this afternoon. the funeral for brad garafalo is saturday and montrell jackson's is monday. this morning, at 8:00 a.m., demonstrators at the d.c. office of police complaints in northwest will meet. they will formally file a complaint about the killing of sherman he's evans. they are asking all d.c. residents to call the metropolitan police department and demand an end to police violence.

sick and scared, that's how animal control officers found dozens of cats and kittens inside a northwest washington home. it was an extreme case of hoarding. 63 cats and kittens were found in cramped and unliveable conditions inside a decatur avenue home in northwest. they are now being taken care of the washington humane society and two women were living there illegally. >> we're assessing the cats to see what kind of condition they were in. whether or not it rises to the level of criminal negligence or criminal abuse. right now the important thing is that the animals are safe. the two women who were living ain that home have not been charged at this point. they can be adopted once they are healthy and the investigation is over. health officials are trying to confirm if a woman has contracted the zika virus.

the road worker killed by a car on tuesday has died. he was operating a lawnmower. chopper 4 was over the seen after the crash and you can see the striking car and the lawnmower there. they are trying to figure out whether the vehicle left the roadway or whether the mower was not in the median at the time of the crash. a man is dead after a fiery crash in great falls, virginia. fairfax county fire and rescue say a car hit a tree yesterday on river bend road. the driver was ejected and the car burst into flames. the driver was found under the car. he has not been identified. there is a court battle under way on those tolls that you pay. a new lawsuit says hundreds of millions of drivers should go back to drivers who pay the toll. it says the toll is being used to help pay for metro's silver
