a look ahead to a busy start to your sunday morning and a storm team 4 weather alert day. good morning to you. hey, tom. >> good morning. all is calm and quiet weatherwise on this sunday morning. it's later today that we could get some strong storms. as we take a look at outside, here's a live view at our storm team 4 tower camera, looking over washington and a few clouds floating through. temperatures are rather mild and muggy with the mumtd. -- humidity. we're in the low to mid 70s. reagan national is at 76 degrees. storm team radar is showing some sprinkles here in the shenandoah valley. light to moderate showers here in west virginia. this is ahead of a cool front. these will be intensifying. i've got the

police looking for a person who fatally shot a man in northeast. it happened in the 1200 block of 18th place. derrick ward is live at the scene. what have you learned so far? >> reporter: well, i can tell you now that sun rise has brought an intensified search here as they have more light. we're in the 1200 block of 18th place northeast. it's about 2. . 05 when police responded for sounds of gunfire. when they got here, they found an adult male in the street. he had been shot several times. fire and ex-ms did try to save his life. he was pronounced dead on the scene. there is no apparent identification of the victim at this point. there was a lookout posted at one point for a dark vehicle

our mark seagraves broke this story on twitter. an off duty d.c. firefighter shot and wounded while driving his car with his daughter inside. it happened in broad daylight just down the street from a church. the firefighter was flown to an area hospital. he was conscious, alert, and stable. the shooting happened at 4:00 in the afternoon. the lookout is for a black and red sports motorcycle. the gun violence a surprise in this neighborhood of single-family homes along a very busy road along the border with prince george's county. this woman has lived here for decades. how concerned are you to find out there was a shooting? >> very much. i've been living here about 40 years and never had that problem. never. you know, people sort of stay to their receive but never any crime. >> the fire ch

as we come up on 6:30. police investigating a deadly shooting in northeast. this happened in the 1200 block of 18th place around 2:00 this morning. we know investigators are still looking for a suspect. police also investigating a deadly shooting in suitland, maryland, here. this happened after 1:00 in the morning. the man was pronounced dead at the scene. a tearful ryan lochte telling nbc's matt lauer in an exclusive interview that he overexaggerated the alleged robbery in rio. he and members of the u.s. swim team were in a confrontation with security after apparently vandalizing a gas station bathroom. he goes on to say he hopes this incident does not tarnish his swimming career. a lot of folks talking about that lochte interview, the big story around here this morning is going to be the weather. it's dry for
