and just as exciting. derrick ward, back to you. >> derrick, thank you. right now prince george's county police want you to take a good look at this backpack. they believe it may lead them to a murderer. they say the person wearing the backpack in these photos shot and killed a 7-eleven employee. then after that he rocked a hotel. the crime spree happened in clinton, maryland, over the weekend. today news4's david culver caught up with customers who go to that 7-eleven all the time and he'll share their emotional reaction a little bit later in the show. and we're learning more about another murder, this one in upper marlboro. he learned the victim's name. damien rowlett was shot yesterday. he was 22 years old. in just under an hour, virginia governor terry mcauliffe will make an announcement on the voting rights of former felons. today's announcement comes after the virginia supreme court struck down his executive order

the court ruled he can only restore rights on a case-by-case basis. the search continues for a motorcyclist who shot an off-duty firefighter in the face. it happened over the weekend on southern avenue in southeast. d.c. police say the firefighter's young daughter was with him in the car when he was shot. she was not hurt. the firefighters you know 81 said he was airlifted to shock trauma in baltimore and is expected to recover. you now have one month before a red light camera starts giving you a ticket. alexandria's sixth camera goes live today. the camera is handsing out warnings for now but that will change on september 22nd. donald trump's campaign may be shifting positions on a key issue, immigration. it comes as hillary clinton continues to try and label trump as insulting. nbc's edward lawrence has the latest. >> reporter: after meeting with

an alarming string of crimes in clinton, maryland. police are looking for someone they say killed a 7-eleven employee and then robbed a hotel. david culver is at that 7-eleven on brandywine road. >> reporter: you can see a very

outside of this clinton 7-eleven. inside a spoke to some of the clerks who are working today and there is an obvious sadness in their eyes as they mourn the loss of one of their colleagues. police are searching for the man responsible for what they say were two back-to-back violent crimes. we watched james pinckney study the wanted poster as he walked into his go-to 7-eleven. when he walked out, his face said it all. >> when you walked out, you and i connected eyes and you said this has got to stop. >> it doesn't make sense. go get a job. i mean there's no amount of money in there, no amount of merchandise that you can trade off for that man's life. >> it's just unbelievable. >> reporter: ricky stevens broke into tears as we told him the name of the man that was killed, a clerk he knew well. >> very, very nice, always loved the fact that i would ask how

saturday morning, police say this man walked into the 7-eleven off of brandy wine road and tried to rob it. he opened fire, killing the 31-year-old clerk. from the 7-eleven police believe the same suspect went about five minutes down the road where he robbed a nearby hotel. two violent crimes in just a few minutes' time. the surveillance images not showing a face, but police hope you may recognize the distinctive clothes or backpack. >> just unacceptable for someone to lose their life at the 7-eleven trying to make a living for their family. >> and the sign on the door reading a $25,000 reward for anyone who has information for either of these crimes. they hope you can help solve the crime as well. i'm david culver, news4. breaking news right now at the live desk. speedo is dropping ryan lochte. i'll read part of the statement from speedo. while we have enjoyed a winnin

deadly apartment explosion are starting to move on. the shelter housing closed on sunday but not before everyone was giving housing options. they can move into another apartment owned by the management company of the flower branch apartment complex. another option, they can stay in a hotel or affordable housing managed by montgomery county. only 20 people remained in the shelter as of saturday night. repairs are expected to be completed nearly a week after this transformer explosion in downtown washington. lanes of l street between 18th and 19th were reopened this morning for the first time since last monday's fire. an underground transformer exploded and knocked out power to more than 100 customers. the cause of that fire is still under investigation. the tropical smoothie cafe chain in virginia is linked to a number of hepatitis a cases. the state health department said ten people came down with hepatitis a after eating smoothies with strawberries in them. the chain says they have stopped using those strawberries, which

people who want specific things on the menu? >> we try to make everything to order. those we don't make to order, we try to have escape routes that we can go. this doesn't have garlic in the beginning, this doesn't have wine in the beginning. we can always make a risotto the way we conceived it but if you want it without wine or without cheese or without butter, we put all that into order. so we want to conceive the dish but we can always take things out. >> so give us an example of what else you have on the menu. i know you brought some lovely items here. >> these are all off of our chef's tasting menu. we have bacon cured bones. baby back ribs cured like bacon. my wife is from colombia, bowinga tau so this comes from the streets of bogota. it's grilled corn rolled with a little feta and bacon and parmesan. this is our pig and peach crustini. so goat cheese and a
