24-year-old for the death of their 3-month-old baby. they say that the two beat the child in the 8500 block of greenbelt road inside their apartment. according to documents, the father beat the child so much that the baby began bleeding. the parents then believed to have put the child in a car in the parking lot of the apartment complex where he stayed for at least 24 hours. some buried that child in a shall e low grave. they waived their rites and brought police to the grave that e showed them where the baby was buried. the case was brought to the attention of police. . after the maternal grandmother reported her daughter and the baby missing. today we spoke with the mother's

involving the flint water crisis. the inspector general says epa could have warned residents about the water danger seven months before it did. the inspector general works as the internal watchdog at the epa. he says the agency had the authority and had enough information to issue an emergency order as early as 2015 in order to warn residents. flint's drinking water tainted with lead after the city started drawing from a different source in order to save money. a personal tragedy rocked the life of an alexandria police officer, but it gave him a new focus, a mission really to help others. >> they are the forgotten souls.

known as officer bennie. for 20 years he's been patrolling the streets. several years ago he experienced a personal tragedy. within a matter of months, he lost both his father and his son. and that motivated him to make a change in his life and the way that he went about doing his job. >> i lost my son to suicide back in 2013. and after my son's suicide, i actually got information for of my guys. he said, well, we didn't realize it was your son because he used to give us shoes all the time. >> reporter: he started to focus on the homeless in the community. those with mental illness. now years later, he helps run the police department's crisis intervention team training other officers in how to deal with the mentally ill. he starts just about every day talking to homeless people on
