she is now head of security for the nfl but today, the district will honor the city's former police chief. kathy lanier retired last month aft6 with a ceremony in northwest. lanier oversees security for all nfl teams and the super bowl. issues she is tackling in her new job is domestic violence. the league has reopened the investigation into new york giants kicker josh brown. brown was arrested last year for an incident involving his ex-wife. at the time, the nfl said it didn't have much information and suspended brown for one game.

e-mails have this come to light. according to the king county sheriff's office in washington state, he admits to physically and verbally abusing his ex-wife. brown did not travel to london for this weekend's game. happening today, friends and family will celebrate the life of josh hardy. he is the virginia boy who died after years of battling cancer. josh's family successfully fought a drug maker to get an experimental drug for him. he died last month. today there is a super hero costume celebration for josh at the everyone is invited but you have to wear a super hero costume to honor josh. his funeral will be held tomorrow. a maryland uber driver is in jail right now. navard sanderson is accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in his car. court documents say the attack happened last month after sanderson dropped someone off. he picked up the girl on maryland route 26 and convinced

they also said he had been banned from uber. the rider of an article that described a brutal gang rape at uva said she messed up. the author of the piece admitted she made mistakes in her reporting. the story was discredited after it came out and rolling stone eventually retracted it. uva administrator nicole aramo is suing the magazine for defamation and asking for nearly $8 million in the case. prince william county school protect lgbt leaders and staff from discrimination. the school board postponed the vote to change the discrimination policy. it would have banned any discrimination on the bis of gender identity or sexual orientation. the school board instead wants to form a task force to study the plan.

historic presidential election if i win. >> donald trump is doubling down, adding fuel to the fire started at wednesday's debate and the republican nominee is facing back lash from critics for suggesting he might not accept the outcome of the election. nbc's edward lawrence is live on capitol hill with the latest on the campaign. we know this is unprecedented. any reasoning behind this yet? >> donald trump is saying that he believes re voter fraud. he believes there are many dead folks on the rolls that possibly could vote in this election going to the heart of our election process. we've had numerous secretaries of state from republican states as well as democratic states coming out saying that is not true and that there is no major fix on a presidential election. donald trump saying, teasing a little with the republicans and democrats saying he would accept the results only if he wins,

results even though they're certified. >> let's switch gears to hillary clinton's campaign. she will be making her first campaign appearance since the debate. what do we know about her strategy over the next 18 days. >> going forward, she has had a lot of surrogates out there. very well liked surrogates. president obama with a high approval rating. michelle obama, who is extremely well liked are going into republican red states. michelle obama in phoenix yesterday trying to make that red state democratic going forward so her splan to sort of get out of the way of donald trump, let him implode and send out her surrogates. donald trump is obviously making his rounds. he is in three events in two different states today so he is hitting the battleground states hard. >> edward, thank you. thousands of arlington county voters are not waiting until election day to vote. 43,000 are expected to vote absentee. that would shatter the 2008
