for two men who set a homeless man on fire during a possible robbery. the victim is now recovering from third degree burns after he was attacked on 14th street northwest around 11 sunday night, the man says two men knocked him to the ground and set his clothes on fire after asking him for money. if you have any information, call police. we're working to learn more about a citizen complaint that led to a d.c. police officer's arrest. this is the top story in the nbc washington app right now. officer arthur thompson was arrested sunday morning in southeast for dui while on duty. a supervisor detected the odor of alcohol coming from thompson while investigating a citizen complaint against him. thompson failed a field sobriety test and was arrested and charged with dui. a prison worker and inmate recovering right now. two fires at a north carolina prison are out and police are trying to figure out who started them. they believe inmates were trying to create a disturbance when

in prince george's county, one cyclist is dead after being hit by a vehicle. police tweeted this picture of the scene. they say the victim was hit by a car on kenilworth avenue near route 50 in bladensburg yesterday morning. we had a crew there who captured footage of the bad back-ups. the driver stayed on the scene. no word on whether charges will be filed. 6:33 now in the defamation lawsuit against rolling stone magazine continues. today, jurors will watch a de gaining rape at the university of virginia. the video is of the alleged victim telling her story to attorneys in april. a police investigation found no. evidence to back up the claims about the rape. nicole aramo is suing the magazine for how she is portrayed in the article. the former aid of chris christie will testify today.

foxhall road will be closed at lowell road through the morning rush and longer today. crews were on the scene trying to fix an emergency gas leak. officials also on the scene helping to direct the traffic. following first 4 traffic on twitter for updates throughout the morning. it is 6:46. we're learning about the moments that led to this crash on bw parkway. news4 was first on the scene as fire crews were working to tow the cars this happened on the area of combat road on route 197. a driver told us her car stalled on the parkway and shut off. >> i told my husband to get out of the car, let's go. as soon as he got out of the car and he walked, the car smashed into our car. >> so lucky. the couple managed to save the dogs from the back seat of the crash. one woman in the striking car was taken to the hospital.
