impacting the morning commute into work and school but the afternoon commute promises to be a very different affair as clouds will lower and thicken during the course of the day. lots of clouds around the city here early this morning. no rain just yet except for our friends and neighbors in northern maryland and panhandle of west virginia. rain likely this afternoon, nothing too heavy but it will be more than enough to get you wet and make you mad if you don't have the umbrella. there are the showers, hagerstown to maryland. not coming into the metro area just yet. that will change later on today. planning out the day, cloudy skies, upper 40s to near 50 for the remainder of the morning. rain arriving in the shenandoah valley by mid to late morning and metro area by lunch time. the ride home, rain is a likelihood. have a brand new problem on 295. sounds like a crash on east capitol street.

shows clinton up 14 points. i'm megan mcgrath live at an early polling place, early voting place in college park. if you can't or don't want to cast your ballot on election day, you can vote early if you're a resident here in maryland. early voting gets under way today at more than 60 early polling locations state. registered voters are people able to vote, can vote. if you need to register, bring proof of address, a driver's license or something with your address or name on it like a utility bill. we're starting to see some of the election workers show up here at the community center in college park. a little while ago, i talked to the chief election officer. she expects things to be very busy today. >> expect this to be a great turn out.

condition after a shooting outside of a movie theater. this happened behind the amc at st. charles town center in waldorf last night. the victim was with friends and stopped to talk to the suspect when he was shot. a person of interest has been naen for questioning. the man who pled guilty to killing montgomery county officer leotta will be sentenced. he pled gui and hit officer leotta at a check point. the hooters restaurant accused of serving too much alcohol will surrender the lilgtor license and close. a plea hearing is expected today in the case of a former national guard member who was arrested for attempting to provide materials to isis. muhammad jollah was arrested on july 3rd.

liquid. one neighbor says they had been concerned about the baby because they could always hear her crying. a developing story right now in the district. a place of worship turned crime scene. james harling was found inside pennsylvania avenue baptist church in southeast. police say the church rents space to a program that helps people with substance abuse. harling an another man participating in the program got into a fight. police arrested perez green for the killing. now to a story nearly 200 angry home owners came out in force in montgomery county to fight to keep a cell phone tower out of the neighborhood. apparently their voices were heard. the company that makes the towers agreed to put a hold on the process until the matter is resolved at the county level. the original proposal was to install small cell antenna

health services. the company people with substance abuse and other issues. an employee tells us the men were there as guests of mbi and had a fight. harling died at the hospital from head trauma. new reaction this morning to a metro train operator who refused to move a train. transportation reporter adam tuss broke this story on facebook live during news4 today yesterday. they're taking action against the train operator. he refused to move the train because he said over sunday night. metro supervisor timely had to move the train instead. there were no passengers on board but witnesses say other trains were unable to enter the fort totten station for ten minutes. 6:33 right now. today is apparently a good day for holiday shopping, especially since there are brand new premium outlet stores in clarksburg set to open. >> the outlets are located off 270 off clarksburg road.

coverage. >> news4 megan mcgrath is live in maryland as voters get ready to head to the polls ahead of election day. megan? >> reporter: yeah, we've actually seen election workers arriving here at this early voting place in college park. they're getting things ready inside and we're going to start to see some voters here potentially within the next hour or so, knox now, if you can't or don't want to cast early in the state of maryland starting today. early voting gets under way at more than 60 early voting locations across the state. registered voters are people eligible to register can vote. now, if you need register, though, keep in mind, you need to bring a proof of address, that is something like a driver's license or something with your name and address on it. something similar to a bill, a utility bill for example. early voting in maryland starts today and will continue through

died and someone else was critically hurt in a massive fire at a building in the upper eastside of new york city. this is a new fire different from another big fire we told you about in new york. we've been covering this from the live desk. here one building went up in flames and two adjoining buildings caught fire as well. the heat was so intense, people had to evacuate other nearby buildings. since bringing you this story, we learned more about a nanny accused of who died from asphyxiation. it was captured on home surveillance video. she removed the caps from two bottles and forced the baby to swallow the milk. neighbors had concerns about the baby for some time because they could always hear her crying. it is 6:48.

at the lynnhill condos have to be gone for good. >> reporter: after the tragic story of the people of the lynnhill condominiums having to leave in three days and find somewhere else to live due to unpaid utilities from condo owners in the condo association, we're now seeing the county turn around and try to help the fellow citizens. prince george county government has the emergency management crews out here. we have seen owners of apartment apartments and the possibility of them qualifying and moving into the apartments right away. we've seen moving companies donating moving services to people who can't afford that and people coming out to help with things like food p and also moving larger pieces of furniture. tragic stories here in this condominium complex. what we're also seeing is the spirit of the people who live here. ministers and every day citizens who are rising up to try to help
