today the man accused of brutally murdering a d.c. family and setting their home on fire will be in court. it was one of of the biggest stories in our area when it broke in may of 2015, darren wentz is accused of killing a family in a mansion in northwest washington. they charge wint with the help of dna of a slice of pizza found at the scene. also today, the appear in court. the judge will consider setting bond for kilah jones. jones stabbed minor to death last week. jones is claiming self defense. minor threatened her and stole her cell phone. that is when jones stabbed minor in the chest with a steak knife. she called an uber and left the crime scene.

close to 150 people arrested in north dakota after a day of protests turned violent. fires were set, improvised firebombs thrown at police and people chaining themselves to items over the controversial dakota access pipeline that stretches more than a thousand miles going close to the standing rock sioux reservation. environmental activists say the water and sacred burial sites. it is called a blow to government prosecutors. a jury in oregon acquitted seven anti-government protesters of federal conspiracy and weapons charges. the protesters were arrested after the take over of a federally owned wildlife sanctuary in oregon last winter.

bundy. the stand off at the wildlife rescue landed for 41 days. the protesters used violence to occupy the reserve. the defendants argued they were protesting government over reach and posed no threat to the public. more problems for metro this morning, this time from the employees. they're accusing the transit agency of creating a hostile work environment and putting their safety at risk. union members told the metro board that they're bei because of a rush to get trains rushing. metro management denies the claim saying self imposed slow downs of service have sky rocketed due to an emphasis on safety. a train operator refused to move a train, claiming his shift was over. metro's latest safetrack surge is getting attention. phase 10 gets under way on the red line. there will be no service between

november 22nd. metro will run free shuttle buses. the green and yellow line will be a good alternative. it will make it tough for marine corps racers and spectators expect road closures and parts of downtown washington and arlington. officials will go extensive transportation plan. metro is not opening early. the starting line will be kept open for 60 minutes longer than previous years the health expo kicks off at the national harbor and tomorrow as well. shuttles will run both days. the marathon runners can pick up the pacts to the race. the shuttles will be available from the eisenhower, branch avenue and metro station.

end in 2018. today a maryland man accused of stealing top secret documents from the nsa will have another bail hearing. hall martin was denied bail last week but the lawyers are hoping the judge will change his mind. he was found to have taken reems of documents. federal investigators are looking at the possibility that martin didn't leak the documents but that his computer was hacked. we expect a nanny accused of killing an eight month old heir first court appearance. the original hearing was postponed so prosecutors could find an interpreter. the defendant cannot speak english. the nanny forced the baby to swallow too much liquid, causing her to suffocate. the case is a reminder to research the people who care for your children. >> we have to be so very, very careful who we leave our children with and there is

children. >> several neighbors we talked to were concerned about the baby for some time because they could always hear her crying. the search continues for two suspects involved in a brutal sex assault. the victim is a 50-year-old woman. she met them at a restaurant late saturday night. they all left together. she says she was assaulted inside a van and one of the attackers allegedly pulled out a gun and forced her manchester street. anyone who may have seen anything is asked to call police. it is a story you heard on 4. mark segraves was first to report that d.c. fire wants to extend the contract with amr private ambulance service for another five years. that recommendation is coming from fire chief gregory dean who is also proposing drastic changes for 911 medical calls in the district. sending an ambulance for every medical call isn't working and

the 911 call center will triage calls and decide how and when to pick you up. no serious injuries in this crash in northeast d.c. it happened yesterday afternoon at eastern avenue and randolph street involving a metrobus and charter school bus packed with elementary school kids from ideal charter school. the operator of the school bus told first responders he couldn't stop. it was a scary situation as you might imagine for the children here. you can see first responders doine the little ones calm. >> you forget that is part of their job, too. it has been ten years since a prince george's county mother lost her son but gwen scott has never stopped looking for his murderer. >> i want other people to see that i loved him. and i have not forgotten him. i don't want them to forget him. i want them to, you know, to help me to have a comfort. >> in 2006, jonathan scott was
