operations here and now at a hangar. the people on board that plane including nbc newsperson el, it was rough and scary landing. it happened in the pour rain. just before 8:00 a.m. at new york's laguardia airport slipping off the runway. >> you might have a crash. a 737 that ran off the runway. >> reporter: not just any 737, the one carry nominee, mike pence. the response was swift, arriing within a minute. passengers clearly rattled. >> oh, my god. >> reporter: hilliard was one of 48 people on board. >> you could smell the rubber. that's when we realized this wasn't our typical landing. >> reporter: he says this isn't the first time pence's plane had a bumpy landing. >> there was another one and we
