"news4 midday" begins with breaking news. that breaking news out of baltimore. six people are dead after an mca bus and school bus crash they've ever seen. >> no children were on the bus at 7:00 this morning. it happened at sedgewick avenue. kristin wright is at the scene. what do you know now? >> caller: well, barbara, this was supposed to be just a regular tuesday morning for people on those two buses. and the person in that smashed up mustang right here but it

take away those two buss that collided for some reason. the crash was horrific. six people are dead. >> when the dust settles, we don't know whose loved onesee who's going to get the phone call this evening that it was their loved one. that's what got me all choked up because this is something. this is sad. >> reporter: police say in the mca bus also died. business say they don't know why the school bus driver lost control. >> the school bus struck the mustang continued eastbound then struck the pillar at the loudoun park cemetery. >> reporter: then smashed into the other bus. palau jones was supposed to be on that bus. >> i'm glad i didn't get on that bus.

he's not been identified yet. no information about a suspect has released either. we're also following developing news out of d.c. police telling us that there were multiple snatch and grab robberies in northwest overnight. at least five happened in northwest in ruffle 45 minutes. it's not known if any incidents were connected. right now, part of rockville pike is still closed because of a downed wire. scene at 6:00 this morning. one right lane on the northbound and southbound sides is open. two left lanes are still blocked on the northbound and southbound sides. at one point, backups were a mile long. after a chilly start to the day, storm team 4 meteorologist lauryn ricketts is here with us. lauryn. >> yeah, definitely can expect changes. and changes for the better.

2,000 more are on the outskirts of the city. the battle to last several more weeks and could involve soldiers going house to house. bill cosby back in court for a pretrial hearing on charges that he drugged and molested a former temple university employee. we have video of him arriving for court this morning. today prosecutors are questioning 13 accusers to show a criminal pattern that spans iv the charges. his attorney say that the women's memories are tainted and unreliable. the trial is set to begin in june. and closing arguments in a defamation lawsuit against "rolling stone" are happening in virginia. the case involves nicole aromo. she said she was unfairly portrayed in a 2014 article

fraternity. she won $7.5 million in damages. three people are dead include two children after a hay ride crash in mississippi. this happened in newton county outside of jackson, mississippi. police say a jeep was towing a flatbed trailer and when a ford truck rear ended the trailer. two kids and an adult has died. one person is dead and explosion in alabama when a machine used to move dirt caused that explosion. officials set down the pipeline for the second time in two months. it's raising fears of another round of gas shortages and pipeline increases. the pipeline supplies gas to millions of people in the south. one of the key votes on the district's death with dignity measure is expected to happen today.

i'm pat lawson muse at the live desk. we're learning more. six people confirmed dead. five of the least 13 on board the mta bus. the school bus driver also died. there were no students on the bus at the time. the school bus was headed to pick up a student about four or five blocks awaym of the crash. governor hogan released a statement saying in part, our deepest condolences go out to the victims and their families in the wake of this tragedy. we will continue to pray for those hooper injured including the individuals in shock trauma. we are expecting shock trauma to hold a briefing in the next few minutes. you can watch that news conference in the nbc washington app. there's a new warning if you
