the hyundai driver asked the guy to back up explaining he had a baby on board. then the most frightening moment. >> they try to get past them and saw something get lifted up and his window shattered and got really scared because it was unexpected window shatter. and so the first thought it was i need to make sure my baby is okay. >> the driver called 911 as soon as he pulled into the gas station. state police raced thereto hand. the baby, okay. they tracked down the suv driver at a restaurant. they are trying now to determine what was used to blast out the window. >> it could be a bb gun, actual firearm, we just don't know yet. >> reporter: the victim asked we protect his identity so that's why we're blurring the face. we witnessed a moment of relief when the mom got to the scene to take the little one back home safe and sound.

election. new data by target smart shows nearly 33 million people have already voted. we're also getting a closer look at the battle for reliablely red states with new nbc news "wall street journal" polls. in arizona donald trump holds a 5-point lead over hillary clinton among likely voters. and in texas trump has a -point advantage, 49% to 40%. but in georgia, there's one point sepang is well within the margin of error. and in these final days, both campaigns are pulling out all the stops in florida and north carolina. trump held a rally in jacksonville this afternoon just hours before president obama appeared in the same city. both trump and clinton have two stops a piece in north carolina. clinton had a rally in the past hour in winterville where eleanor holmes norton joined her on stage. her mother is from that part of the state.

new video from the security camera shows the moments before a school bus smashed into a transit bus. you can see the pace of traffic. then the video shows a car slowing down and then a school bus barrelling down behind it. its speed appearing significantly faster than the rate of the others. the car that slowed down appears to be the mustang the school bus slammed into before it hit the transit bus. the driver of that school bus should not have been bnd the wheel. the medical certification expired at the end of august making him ineligible to driver a commercial vehicle. david collins has more on where this investigation stands now. >> reporter: officials told the

in west baltimore. the ntsb will send the vehicle's reporting modules to their lab in d.c. investigators intend to interview witnesses chrks will include surviving passengers and have footage from three cameras. the videois is from the bus and gas station. the yellow bus driver traveling east struck the back of a mustang. the car damaged and then ricochetted off the cemetery wall back on to the street. the yellow bus hit a cemetery pillar before smashing into an mta bus. the distance, they estimate, some 800 feet. >> a woman says her uber driver took off with her luggage and never returned it. it's a a bizarre story.

over to the police. susan hogan joins us with what she has learned about this. >> it began as a simple request for a ride with an uber driver, but it ended with a passenger being left in a vacant lot. her luggage, gone. kristin webb returned to dulles from a trip overseas. she went on her uber app and a driver showed up. he knew her name and even put her luggage in the back of the truck and off they but something went very wrong on this particular ride. >> we're driving and he says i'm not connected to this car. >> reporter: what happened next cost this uber driver his job. uber tells us he's been working closely with police to assist their investigation. we'll have reaction from police and uber coming up tonight on news 4 at 11:00.
