the judge is allowing slager to remain out of jail during the trial. a u.s. park police officer shot himself in the foot while trying to stop a raccoon attack. the officer was in rock creek park after someone called about the animal. the raccoon attacked the officer who accidently shot himself while fighting off the raccoon. a second officer arrived and killed the raccoon. there is still no word yet whether the raccoon was rabid. the injured officer is expected to be okay. this morning, a transit police officer is on administrative leave for reportedly pushing two women. laura watkins shot this video at dupont circle. officer andy vin asked her and a friend to leave the station because they were too drink. they were asked to leave many times before he appears to push them toward the fare gate. watkins says she was bruised in the incident.

the d.c. council is trying to help metro with the $300 million budget short fall. the council says it is prepared to double the yearly contribution to metro if maryland and virginia do the same. no word on whether they would be willing to pay more. this week, the general manager proposed fare increases, cuts in service and layoffs. the budget is getting a lot of push back from employees and the transit board. twitter steps in to stop some election rumors, the company has suspended accounts texting your vote. there is no way you can use your phone to vote. at least four different ads have been found. if you're unable to get to a polling location, your only option is a mail in absentee ballot. while you have to be 18 to vote, some prince william county students found out what it was like to cast a ballot. they held a mock election. the school worked with the county election office to create a ballot like the ones their
