security experts are checking to make sure the election is secure against cyber attacks. u.s. intelligence officials tell nbc news, they're concerned power grids will be disabled. despite all of the concerns over election hacking and voter intimidation, we're seeing record turn out for early voting. today is your last chance to cast an early ballot in the judiciary square now with everything you need to know on the final day of early voting. good morning to you. >> good morning again, aaron. this is where it all started. this is going to be one of the places where you will be finishing up the last day of early voting if you have left to do it in the district of columbia. the polls open at 8:30 and close at 7:00 p.m. early voting has been going on since october 22nd and i can

building. that is always a good sign. they say it was a steady turn out all of the period of early voting here as well. now, d.c. also has absentee ballots, what is called no excuse absentee ballots. if you haven't got one it is too late to get one and request one. you have until election day to turn it in. a lot of things on the ballot this year here in district. there is the presidential race. also the ward vincent gray is trying to make a political come back. also, we have a race for d.c. delegate, two at large city council seats with six people vying for seats. there are advisory neighborhood commission races and an advisory referendum on d.c. state hood. folks coming out here, again, this is the last day for early voting and the polls close at 7:00.

derrick ward, news4, back to you. >> thank you. can you believe it? there are fewer than 100 hours left for the candidates to campaign and they will use every minute itself to try to secure votes ahead of election day. the focus remains, though, on those battleground states. hillary clinton will make appearances in pittsburgh and detroit. president obama will rally on her behalf in north carolina. donald trump will make stops in new hampshire, ohio, and pennsylvania, learning another batch of e-mails from clinton's time from secretary of state could be released today. a hearing about a lawsuit filed against the department will be held on monday. meanwhile, new polls show clinton is gaining ground on trump in a few states that typically vote republican. nbc news, wall street journal

ahead of clinton. the race there, neck and neck. 45% of likely voters opting for trump with 44% leaning towards clinton and the polls have margin of errors of about 3 points on each of those from the decision desk, i'm erika gonzalez. back to you. >> thank you, erika. it is 6:05. we're working to get more information on a developing story in the district. d.c. police are investigating a shooting in the 4300 block of 4th street seats. 9:30. at last check, he was in critical condition. we're making additional calls to find out whether police have made any arrests or have new suspect information. fairfax county police are not pressing charges at this time against a man accused of road rage on the beltway. here is what we know about the incident. a father driving with his four month old daughter in the back seat says the driver of an suv kept cutting him off. they exchanged words and the

weapon and his window shattered. the father pulled over. franklin flores tried to help him. >> he got really scared because it was unexpected that his window shattered. and so the first thought was i need to get off to the side and make sure my baby is okay. >> the little girl is all right. they caught up with an suv driver in vienna but did not find a weapon and aren't sure how the window two d.c. public administrators will be in court. justin headspeth shot the couple as they sat in a car earlier this year. the victim's car war stuck in the snow there. according to charging documents, the male victim believed his brother was shot and killed by headspeth in 2007. muhammad weis traveled to

few months and surrounded to kurdish forces. a federal grand jury indicted him on charges he provided material support to isis. his attorneys say he will plead not guilty. a human trafficker convicted will be sentenced in federal court. michael maynes was found guilty of trafficking women and girls across northern virginia and commonwealth. prosecutors say he would separate mothers from the children and refuse to reunite them untile work for him. tomorrow, parents in prince george's county are invited to a community summit on school safety and accountability. parents will be able to give their input on the student safety action plan. that meeting is tomorrow morning at 10:00 at the middle school in mitchellville. free breakfast and child care will be provided. today, late supreme court justice scalia will be honored by the bar.

side of the roadway. very slow there. 270 looks okay. top of the beltway looks okay. going back here to virginia, 66 is all right but 95 north getting quite slow because probably in part because of this problem here. just 32 miles an hour. quantico to the beltway, remember to listen to wtop 103.5 fm when you hop in your car. authorities in michigan have released chilling video. they say it shows the murder suspect, bradley o-strike preparing to kill his alleged victims. you can see him hanging ropes and carrying chains with giant hooks. first video is dated july 5th of 2014. that was the weekend before he allegedly killed a couple after meeting them on craigslist. authorities say they were preparing to arrest him when he committed suicide. a major investigation is under way into south korea's president. she is apologizing for letting someone else basically run the

she admitted she relied on the daughter of a cult leader to help her with public relations junior. she is replacing her prime minister, she denied any involvement in the cult. $1 million is how much one man will have to pay for his role in the baltimore riots. violent rioting erupted following freddie gray's death. gregory butler junior has to pay probation and publishing service. he punctured a fire hose as they tried to douse the flames at a burning cvs. the riots cost the city $20 million. the trial against a former south carolina police officer charged in the murder of walter scott is under way. cell phone video captured michael slager fatally shooting the unarmed black man after a traffic stop. he faces between 30 years and life in prison if he is convicted. the jury is made up of 11 white

the judge is allowing slager to remain out of jail during the trial. a u.s. park police officer shot himself in the foot while trying to stop a raccoon attack. the officer was in rock creek park after someone called about the animal. the raccoon attacked the officer who accidently shot himself while fighting off the raccoon. a second officer arrived and killed the raccoon. there is still no word yet whether the raccoon was rabid. the injured officer is expected to be okay. this morning, a transit police officer is on administrative leave for reportedly pushing two women. laura watkins shot this video at dupont circle. officer andy vin asked her and a friend to leave the station because they were too drink. they were asked to leave many times before he appears to push them toward the fare gate. watkins says she was bruised in the incident.

the d.c. council is trying to help metro with the $300 million budget short fall. the council says it is prepared to double the yearly contribution to metro if maryland and virginia do the same. no word on whether they would be willing to pay more. this week, the general manager proposed fare increases, cuts in service and layoffs. the budget is getting a lot of push back from employees and the transit board. twitter steps in to stop some election rumors, the company has suspended accounts texting your vote. there is no way you can use your phone to vote. at least four different ads have been found. if you're unable to get to a polling location, your only option is a mail in absentee ballot. while you have to be 18 to vote, some prince william county students found out what it was like to cast a ballot. they held a mock election. the school worked with the county election office to create a ballot like the ones their

what could affect the day at the polls. it is 6:33. a disturbing story developing after a woman was found chained inside a shipping container. kayla brown and her boyfriend were reported missing in august. yesterday, deputies searching a south carolina property heard her screaming for help. now a registered sex offender who owns that property is in custody. >> we got deputies down there that came to do the search warrant this morning container. for all of the officers to open the container up and see her chained like a dog, i mean, that is incredible. >> there is no sign of brown's boyfriend. his car was found nearby. brown told investigators up to four bodies could be buried on the property. none have been found so far but the search will resume later this morning. a woman out walking her dog says a man tried to snatch her from the sidewalk. police in fairfax county have

arivalo with abduction. she was walking earlier this week when she noticed a car slowly driving by. she said the man jumped out of the car and grabbed her. she managed to get away. an interesting twist in a home invasion investigation. prince william county police arrested two men who appear to be the victims. nathan thomas and richard german reported armed men broke into their house and assaulted them. during the investigation of the house, police f guns. nathan thomas and richard german were arrested on charges of manufacturing drugs. as we approach daylight saving time, street safety is an even bigger concern for people who walk or ride their bikes regularly. molette green joins us live with how disobeying traffic laws could cost you big time. molette, good morning. >> good morning to you. yeah, look out here. we've got plenty of it.

information on a developing story in the district. d.c. police are investigating a shooting in the 4300 block of 4th street southeast. they say a man in his 20s was shot last night just before 9:30. at last check, he was in critical condition. we're making additional calls right now to find out whether police have made any arrests or have new suspect information. fairfax county police are not pressing charges at this time against a man accused of road rage on the beltway. a father driving with his four month old daug kept cutting him off. they exchanged words. the suv driver then raised a weapon and shattered his window near national harbor. the father pulled over. franklin flores said he tried to help. >> he got really scared because it was unexpected window shatter and so the first thought is i need to make sure my baby is okay. >> the baby is okay.
