route 202 and dodge park road around 10:45 last night. the victim is in critical condition. we're going to continue to update you as soon as we get new information. we'll also post this story in the nbc washington app. there is a large police and metro presence at the southern avenue metro station this morning. the good news, this is all just a drill. news4's derrick ward is live in prince george's county with more on what crews are training >> reporter: good morning. this exercise is actually just starting to get under way. we're at the southern avenue metro stations. riding through here, you'll see a lot of the emergency responder presence and that is of course, all about this drill. they got 100 to 150 people, volunteers and first responders from metro, from prince george's county. even in sm from the district. various agencies taking part in this. what they're doing is undergoing

smoke in a tunnel. they sent one train in and they're going to get emergency responders in here. it is all part of the drill. as we hear from prince george's county fire chief. there is one thing they're looking at. one thing in particular. >> absolutely. i mean, this quarterly drill program is important to the entire region and we try to spread it around. we had it at greenbelt and southern avenue. we're right on the border. the communication link between the district of something we're really interested in testing as well as getting people out of the tunnels. >> reporter: so they say they don't want first responders first trip into the station or a tunnel is to be under emergency situations. this station is open. they have a pay side and a play side. you'll have some delays because of the single tracking through the station. this is expected to last until about 2:00 p.m. this afternoon.

there are new developments in the disturbing kidnapping and murder case in south carolina. authorities say the man charged with kidnapping kayla brown, this man, has confessed to killing four people in 2003 but may be linked to seven deaths. todd kohlhepp pointed out more graves on his property yesterday. >> back in 2003, on paris ridge road, there were four members of brutally murdered. it is called the super motor bike case. >> the young woman was found alive, chained inside a storage container on the property. yesterday her boyfriend's body was found in a shallow grave. police say that he had been shot. new york authorities looking for a person of interest after two children and a woman were stabbed to death. police want to question jeremy arrington but not calling him a

three died including an 11-year-old boy and 8-year-old girl. the victims were family members. time is 9:33. there are just two days left until election day but already thousands have voted in northern virginia, people lined up for the last day of in person absentee voting. more than 10,000 people voted on the final day and in arlington, close to 3,800 voters cast an early ballot. beyond the candidates, meanwhile, on the ballot in tuesday's election, 34 of the decide about changing the laws on a wide range of issues. they include guns, death, taxes and more. nbc news justice correspondent pete williams has a look at the big questions up for a vote. >> voters in california, which already has tough gun laws, will decide whether to require background checks to require ammunition. supporters say it will cut down
