>> i never had it as an adult and i'm digging my heels in it. i love it. >> you're going to make the traditional green bean casserole and you're going with a little twist. >> a little pinache. >> you go to your area. >> we have green beans, mushroom, onions, fried onions, all that great stuff. the first step water and they go in 4 four minutes until they're tender and submerge them in an ice water bath and -- >> keeps them looking green. >> and stops them from cooking. i have onions, sauteing them in butter. that takes about 7 or 8 minutes and add to it mushrooms. >> what kind of mushrooms are

use white button mushrooms if you want. we took this about a minute or two minutes to get the flour taste out of it and helps thicken it up. you pour in the half and half. >> if you don't want to go this heavy, could you put milk in there? >> you could totally put milk in this and it works great. once it starts to thicken, coat the back of a spoon and takes a couple minutes, turn off the heat, add in parmesan cheese nutiness and a little bit of sherry vinegar. because there is so much fat in there it will cut through that. >> this is after how long? >> this is after about 4 minutes. get those green beans. i will put them in here. toss them with the sauce, just like that. this is going to be so good, makes me think about childhood.
