supporter and hear how she is feeling this morning about this upset. back to you. >> kristin wright, thank you. and now donald trump is the president-elect of the united states. sarah rosario is live there in new york city. so what is the next step for donald trump? >> reporter: well, eun, i think that donald trump is -- we'll see if he lives up to his promises. he talked a big game and i think that is why many of his supporters were really rallying around him. they wanted something different. and we'll see if over the next four years he will work to try to change some of the things that president obama put in place over the past eight years. you do remember him saying some of the things he would change within the first 100 days of office. he would end obamacare on day one. we would ban muslims and talked about building a wall.

remained open because of long lines. all jurisdictions were asked to hold their results until all polling locations closed. now we'll go to erika gonzalez at the decision desk with more on the house races. >> reporter: good morning, eun. with chris van hollen moving to the senate, his house seat was up for grabs. jamie raskin won with a big lead over republican attorney dan cox. and in prince george's anthony brown took over the fourth district seat currently held by donna edwards. he defeated george mcdermott by a large margin. and the most competitive was district six, john delaney fended off the challenger. >> thank you. a few hundred people waited outside the white house overnight as the election

election. i'm aaron gilchrist live in lafayette park, a few hundred yards away from the white house. donald trump's next address, 1600 pennsylvania avenue. >> good morning to you, i'm eun yang. we have teams spanned across the area as well as in new york this morning, including news4's jim handly at hillary clinton's election party headquarters. and erika gonzalez isti issues. and now we'll break down how the area voted for president. virginia was a tighter battleground state than a lot of people expected going into yesterday's voting. hillary clinton is projected to win the state of virginia with 48% of the vote there. fewer than 100,000 votes separated her from donald trump, though. much of clinton's support came from northern virginia and counties like fair fast, loudoun, prince william.

we have a rigged up umbrella out there to try to keep aaron dry. thank you for the weather report. i'm glad to see we didn't subject an intern to illness to hold the umbrella for him. if you're wondering, where is the cold air? it hasn't felt that cold. we are a week deep into november. you're right. looking through the weather channel, since july 4 months in a row, we have had 107 days warmer than average out of 22. in other words, only 15 days have been cooler than average. i do think we have a shot to add more onto the pile heading into the weekend. right now temperatures in the 50s outside. it's not really cold, but it is really wet. we might get easing up in the rain around lunchtime, but more showers are likely this
