we saw this, protests dividing communities across the u.s. it's reaction to the election of donald trump. in portland things turned violent. a man was shot following a confrontation with someone in a car. he is expected to be okay. in downtown los angeles thousands of people have filled the streets. the this week. president elect trump is showing some signs of compromise when it comes to the affordable care act known as obamacare. donald trump says he will try to keep some of the most popular parts of that law intact, that includes the portion that covers people with preexisting conditions and the measure that allows young people to stay on the plan until they turn 26, but

somebody vandalized the sign for the fourth time. church leaders would like to talk to the vandals. a suicide bomber calling at least four and hurting 14. bagram is the largest u.s. military base in afghanistan. the attacker was looking for the opportunity to do the most damage. the base is investigators try to make sure it's not part of a largerr plot reaction pours in after a soldier with killed in ku wait. murray enlisted two years ago and a spokesperson told him an outstanding soldier. he was 23 years old.

officers and the k-9. officers fired back killing the man. detectives tracked down a sexual assault suspect in north carolina. he is accused of crashing into a woman's car and sexually assaulting her on halloween. he said he intentionally crashed into the victim's car on the highway. woman out of the car, assaulted her on the side of the road. he is charged with rape and aggregated sexual battery. we have new information about a deadly assault inside an assist add living facility. the victim was 82 years old and the man who assaulted him was 72. this happened last month in alexandria. paramedics rushed the victim to the hospital where he died that

many people celebrate the news that prince george's county was getting a new hospital, but after reading the fine print council members are raising concerns and that includes the county giving away land worth tens of millions of dollars. more on that story. >> reporter: with the university of medical system opens a new regional medical center, they will take control of two hospitals, but several george's county council members are saying they were never told how far that control would go. >> when this was building was conveyed the land will go along with it. it will be basically i call it gifted or given away. >> reporter: combined both sit on nearly 100 acres of valuable land worth tens of millions of dollars. spokesmen say that land is part of what's paying for the

last month. >> my assumption meant the bricks and mortar and whatever equipment was inside but it meant the land as well. >> reporter: council members are supporting a bill. they worry the land could negatively impact the deal. legislation as it relates to these facilities, however the administration is working on a resolution regarding the transfer of these facilities. part of the restrictions in this bill includes that medical facilities remains on these lands and if the hospital decides to do something else with the property they use union and minority contractors to do.

unarmed black man near the university of cincinnati. on friday the panel told the judge they could not reach a decision on murder or voluntary manslaughter charges. she ordered them back to work. she told the jors they had all the information to make a verdict. two teenagers are in custody. a 17-year-old from ashburn was 16-year-old from virginia also facing charges. last friday night two men were stabbed near an apartment complex. one man died and another was hurt. the victims appear to have been targeted. residents in peru have been evacuated after explosions that
