the trio signal a dramatic shift in u.s. policy on national security and criminal justice. i'm chris lawrence at the live desk where a civil rights organization is reporting more than 700 incidents of hate in the week following election day. we have seen it here at this church in silver spring. they track harassment and intimidation across the country from the morning after the election through this wednesday. most were gamed at gays lesbians and muslims. the incidents range from physical confrontations to something crawled on a bathroom call. they also found 27 anti-trump incidents like the teenager who was beat up in montgomery county for wearing a make america great again hat. today the attorney general urged americans to come forward. >> we need you to continue to report these incidents to local

the demonstrators were protesting against a group called national policy institute which they say was having a meeting inside the restaurant here on wisconsin avenue. at one point, protesters stormed inside the restaurant but then they left and demonstrated on the sidewalk. there was a police presence to make sure that the sidewalk was not blocked. and the group chanted and danced. there was no violence. there were no arrests. the national policy institute is it is part of the all the right movement described by some as white nationalist think tanks. >> they think their ideology of hate is going to get currency in a new trump presidency. and we're here to tell them that we will not let that happen. >> reporter: now, the group's conference will be here in washington tomorrow at the reagan building. those protesters say they will be back there tomorrow to continue their demonstrations.
