clinton campaign to request a recount after finding what they call persuasive evidence that results in wisconsin, michigan and pennsylvania may have been hacked. clinton's campaign has not commented on that request and according to the cook political report, clinton's lead over donald trump in the popular vote has now exceeded 2 million. >> we know that the community is hurting. we know that there is pain. >> dozens of people to remember the victims in that deadly school bus crash. police now say that a sixth child has died. official are adding another vehicular homicide charge to the bus driver, 124-year-old johnson e. walker. meanwhile investigators are trying to out why he left his normal route. we are told he did not have drugs or alcohol in his system when that crash happened. >> it is 4:34. one man is giving thanks this morning for surviving a terrible

started out as any other day. he says he was on his way to work just before 8:00 when suddenly a tractor-trailer fell over and landed right on top of his car. >> family here, my parents are coming down. it's going to be a good holiday. >> police say the driver of the truck was traveling along the outer loop of the beltway when traffic came to a quick stop due to another accident. the driver and the track overturned. it landed on top of two cars. look at that. one of them was quin's. he walked away without a scratch and credits his guardian angel for that. two people in the other vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries. it could have been so much worse. >> amazing right there. well, right now hopefully your turkey is in the oven and the potatoes are boiling for food and friends' annual thanksgiving dinner.

sounds like a smart plan b. several restaurants are taking reservations. at the national harbor told us they're expecting 900 guests for dinner. they're all in the same boat. if you go to a restaurant, you don't have to have people at your house, nothing to clean up. >> if the clean up is out of control, my mom always says, you know, she cooks for two days straight and then it's done in ten minutes. and you have to clean up everything. >> we eat about three times at our house. >> it is >> stick with us all morning long. we're going to be sharing recipes for thanksgiving dishes from the news 4 team. what can we expect from you? >> i made brussels sprouts. the first dish.

? roasted brussels sprouts with panchetta. you cook the brussels sprouts originally in that panchetta fat and then you put it in the oven, get all the brown bits. it's so good. >> i need a bowl of that. it looks amazing. >> you like brussels sprouts in >> you cook them in fat. that is the key. >> you cook it in italian bacon.

thanksgiving. wal-mart and target kickoff their in-store black friday sales at 6:00 p.m. to each his own. best buy sales start 5:00 this evening. good way to burn off that turkey. macy's is also opening today. most stores will remain open until 2:00 a.m. before reopening four hours later for black friday. those folks get a four-hour window to take a quick nap before they're back to work. >> time to shop, sho shoppers in virginia from now to new year's day it is retiming traffic signals around tysons, gateway, fair oaks mall and others. this should help drivers get in and out faster. engineers are using traffic data collected during last year's holiday shopping season to time-out the signals. v-dot will use sensors to monitor the conditions and make any necessary adjustments in real time. they cannot guarantee you a parking spot. that's for sure.

serving thanksgiving dinner to veterans. they visited the armed forces retirement home last night. there's president obama. he greeted each former service member and served them turkey and gravy. first lady served spinach and gravy while sasha gave them cranberry sauce and mashed potatoes. the vt retirement home supports more than 400 former service members. very cool. >> uh-huh, before serving veterans dinner he took part in his wife's house tradition. the president's daughters sasha and m ali a were noticeably absent. they couldn't take his cornucopia jokes. he may get the last laugh before leaving office. >> they are thankful this is my final presidential turkey pardon. what i haven't told them yet is we are going to do this every year from now on.

pittsburgh, philly, boston. should be an improving picture in atlanta and points west of there out towards texas, no problems. another big storm coming up on the pacific northwest. if you're going all the way to seattle and portland, you could have some inclement weather there. for us notice most of the rain is in western pennsylvania. that's headed up into new york. another batch of showers down here in north carolina. we sort of have the split flow around here. there will be a lot of clouds today, but rain chances are high, but rainfall amounts will be very, frederick and hagerstown, leez berg. best chance for light rain into the d.c. metro area between 8:00 and 10:00 this morning. then that should move away and our computer models are trying to hint at a chance for a little bit of sunshine this afternoon. i'll believe it when i'm looking at the sun. just know you could get a little glimmer of it later on today. showers around this morning, another chance for sprinkles off and on the middle of the day tomorrow. no cold weather in store.
