is cell phone video from witnesses who say they heard dozens of gunshots. louisville police say two men lost their lives, four others hurt expected to be okay. as of now they haven't made any arrests. >> developing this morning, the military has not yet identified the service member killed in combat in northern syria. the service member was caught in a blast from an improvised explosive device. americans are part of a multi-national effort. the death is a painful reminder. the u.s. navy is looking into credit monitoring services for more than 134,000 current and former sailors who said they were hacked. the information was stolen last month. it included the sailor's names, social security numbers and other sensitive details. all of this taken from a laptop

the navy says there's no evidence that the information has been misused but they are taking precautions. now to a story you'll only see on news 4, the maryland woman who survived a bear attack is sharing her experience. the attack happened last week in frederick. karen osborne was walking to her daughter's house next door when she came upon a mother and her cubs. osborne said it felt like an eternity as the bear malled her. bit my arm in half and then she came back around again and attacked me from above. she went to catch her breath. when she was laying behind me i could feel the hot air of her breath on my neck. >> that description of the attack is just -- it gives you chills. osborne says it will take some time for her wounds to heal but she's very grateful to be alive and with her family this

you're watching "news 4 today." we're back at 4:44 this friday morning. today charges could be filed in the killing of a wayne state university police officer. patrol tuesday night when someone shot him in the head. police arrested a person of interest that very night. rose was a five-year veteran of the university police force. he was engaged to be married next october. to this developing story in california. there is a massive manhunt for these two escaped san jose jail inmates. rojelio chavez and la juan campbell. they are considered to be

by cutting through the bars of a second story window. that happened on wednesday night. chavez and campbell were in jail for false imprisonment and weapons charges. isis is claiming responsibility for an explosion that killed 56 people on a religious pilgrimage. a suicide bomber caused the blast at a nearby gas station. most of the people who died were from iran. they were returning home on a bus after religious event. show you this now in israel. tens of thousands of people there leaving their homes because of wildfires. this is in hypa, towards the northern part of the country. dry conditions after a two-month long drought and strong winds both fueling the fires. it's not clear how the fires started, but some officials believe the flames were deliberately set. back here in the states wildfires are causing problems for people in north carolina.
