seminary road. news 4's darcy spencer is live at the scene with more on what happened. darcy? >> reporter: well, good morning. from what we understand, this homicide took place right here in this high rise apartment. we're at the skyline apartments like you said off of seminary road in the falls church area. police say they found a man's body inside one of these apartments around 10:00 last ht upper body. they're continuing this investigation. we're showing you investigation now when the scene was a little bit more active. we have one police car at the scene but we understand police are still here. police are telling us that they do have a suspect in custody. this started last night with a phone call at about 8:30. >> a suspicious event. we responded here to the 5500 block at seminary road and we

>> reporter: now police are telling us that the person who was found dead is an older male. they're not saying whether this was domestic or what the motive was. they are expecting to release additional information later this afternoon. >> thank you, darcy. developing this morning, isis claiming responsibility for an explosion that killed 73 people rk many of whom -- many pilgrimage. 40 of whom were on a bus returning to the annual religious event. a manhunt is on for someone who attacked a home of missionaries. she freed herself from being bound and gagged. police found the body of a woman who appears to have been stabbed to death. the suspect is on the run. right now there is no indication the killing was an act of terror.

new information coming out of the presidential transition this morning. we're learning that donald trump has only received two intelligence briefings since the election. that is far fewer than the nearly daily briefings expected. in turn, vice president-elect mike pence is briefed almost every day. the sessions are designed to give a summary of key security developments from all 16 intelligence agency as well atz cia. without getting those briefings trump could be putting the u.s. at ris. e. he is working at his palm beach estate. he tweeted he's working hard, trying to get carrier a.c. company to stay in the u.s. they're plan to move to mexico.

you'll likely remember henderson from her role as carol brady on "brady bunch." she passed away with family and friends in ka kaf. -- california. she was 82 years old. a lot of people going out in relatively good weather for shoppers. you won't need all the 17 layers to bundle up against the cold. many, many clouds, only a later this afternoon. our rain chances peak at 3:00, 4:00. after that sunshine is due to come back here. milder air. we'd like to be back into the 60s. that's our next best chance for a soaking rain. for today though, plan on an awful lot in the way of cloud cover. temperatures, mid to upper 50s. a chance for a few late day showers.

from the apartment complex with an escort from fairfax county police. we believe this is part of the investigation. police found the body inside the apartment around 10:00 last night. we don't have his identity. police simply saying that it was an older man and he suffered from trauma to the upper body. now police are saying that they do have a person of interest or suspect in custody. no word of any charges at this point. no word on any motive for this case and whether this could have been domestic related. we'll have have information for you. more breaking news now overnight. we learned of the death of hollywood icon florence henderson. you probably know her best as carol brady from "the brady bunch." maureen mccormick who played her daughter marcia tweeted, quote,

sure. we have a cloudy sky over washington this morning. it's going to stay mostly cloudy for most of the day. not going to be a total washout though from a rainfall perspective though we really do need the rain. since september 1 we've only had 3 1/2 inches of rain. i looked back the last time we had a heavy rain, that was back in we have a little bit of a chance this won't be drought busting rain. skies are cloudy this morning and they'll stay that way. could get a peek or two of sunshine today, but also after about 2:00 or 3:00 there ace a chance and south and east of i.-90 more of a chance. slightly lower chances up to the san then doe a valley.
