and david culver is on his way cuba and will be reporting live on the funeral and reaction to fairfax county's death in the days to come. keep it here for today's stories and follow him on twitter for updates. election officials are going to recount all the votes in wisconsin if jill stein pays for it by tomorrow morning. the recount will start thursday and end sometime before december 13. the green party candidate also just filinged for a recount in pennsylvania. president-elect donald trump is railing against the recount saying it won't change anything and he opened up a new line of attacks arguing that he would have won the popular vote if millions in virginia, new hampshire and california hadn't voted illegally. so far the trump campaign hasn't produced any evidence and the virginia board of elections says the krams are groundless. the next phase of metro is

it will impact the orange and silver lines as they single track. they run every 20 minutes now through december 21. there is limited shuttle bus service that is free, but most riders we talked to plan to wait for the trains instead. the work will also affect in some riders in loudoun news 4 transportation reporter adam tuss broke metro's recommendations on twitter and he joins us live from the west falls church station. >> reporter: lots of reaction to this. the general manager is trying to find eight more hours per week so that maintenance teams can have that time to get in and fix the system. of course we've been seeing so much work with safetrack, but this is completely separate from

so the general manager is proposing times that would crow metro during the week, closing at 11:30 at night on friday and saturday nights and metro would close at 1:00 in the morning and then on sunday, metro wouldn't open until 8:00 in the morning and it would close at 11:00 at night. that would be the extra time that would be found to actually do more maintenance, this would happen for a period of two years after safetrack ends and riders are reacting today. it they are not happy >> it's a big inconvenience. everyone has to go to work, go to different places. metro is really way to get there. single tracking is pretty hard on people like me. >> reporter: so what will happen is that metro board will be presented with this plan this thursday at at a board meeting, they will then have to take a vote on whether or not they want goi forward. but we're already seeing

a lot of folks out there may have a hard time finding their umbrellas and raincoats. we have used them so little. >> so doug, you said we have two storms coming. how much rain are we looking at? >> one storm tomorrow, one on wednesday. and if you were to ask me that question last friday or saturday, it looked like we'd get 2, 3 inches. but it doesn't look like that anymore. it looks like most of the rain will by pass our area. and again, we really do need to see it. out there right now, just the temperatures have been on the cool side today, but right away average. average high now 53, we're at 52 right now. temperatures dropping, but not much. even by 7:00, down to 51. 50 overnight tonight. and temperatures may actually rise toward the morning as it next storm system moves our way. 48 currently in gaithersburg, 51 toward quantico. so cool, but not cold for this time of year. we're right around average. what is not average, the amount of rain that we've seen.

average since september 1st, just over the past couple of months. and that puts us in a moderate drought. d.c., parts of northern virginia, most of maryland and abnormally dry back to the rest. so we really do need to see rain and we will see a little bit. radar is try right now, but widen out and back to the west you see this storm. and this is a big storm bringing snow toward the dakotas and look at the amount of rain from chicago all the way down to the south. some very heavy rain down towards areas of memphis they are in extreme drought conditions. now, that rain will move our way, but unfortunately, the area of low pressure is a little too far away and that means for us we're not going to get biggest impact. let's take you through will. this. tomorrow morning, expect showers early for the morning rush. heaviest back toward the west. 1:00, light showers around d.c.,

toward 6:00, but this is just periods of shower most of the rest of the area. and then wednesday 7:00, another round of showers, but notice it's gone by noon unfortunately we won't see much rain on wednesday even though we will see some breezy conditions and temperatures will be very warm. so as far as total rainfall, you notice the big thing up here to the north. this area will get the potential of 1 to 2 to maybe even 3 inches. 2 1/2 in frederick, 2.2 in winchester. but in the metro area, maybe a quarter inch to a third of an inch. that may be about it. so that is something we will continue to track for you. we are tracking not one, but two storms in the next couple of gays. tuesday and wednesday, look at these temperatures. 65 on tuesday, 70 on wednesday. and thursday and friday, we get rather cool. and look at next sunday.

this. and that's what the green party's jill stein has ended up doing. so on the one hand, there is no harm in actually recounting them one more time. but as you mentioned, in wisconsin right now, the margin is more than 20,000 votes. and it just seems impossible to turn that over. final margin in florida was 5237 votes. talking about 20,000 votes in wisconsin or 10,000 in michigan or nearly 70,000 in pennsylvania, it just didn't seem possible mathematically to be am to overturn those results. you might make up a few hundred votes, maybe even 1,000, but that is probably about it. >> so what do you make of trump's claims that millions of the votes were illegal and that it cost him the popular vote? what is the point of his making that claim and is there any

overnight the rain moves in and most of today it looked like it was going to rain at any zelgd second. but we just had clouds. widely scattered showers on tuesday, most of this will be on the light side. and we'll really warm up. both tuesday and wednesday. wednesday we'll also see rain showers in the forecast before they taper off wednesday afternoon, wednesday night. temperatures out there right now made it into the 50s today. 52 was the temperature. outside the beltway, you can see holding steady. most likely bottoming out in the upper 40s to right around 50 degrees. not a lot happening on the radar. you can see the clouds filling in in spots that did have sunshine today, but here is the rain moving our way. and it will weaken a little bit as it marches to the east. they are getting thunderstorms down in the deep south and much needed rain through portions of the midwest. and again, we will see some rain here, just not going to be a lot of it. so what do you need to wear

warehouse say an employee was upset, fired at the store this morning. tracee wilkins is there tonight. >> what are people telling you about this? >> reporter: the employees talked to me off camera about what happened. they say that they want the shooter in custody. many at this shoppers food warehouse unfolded here just hours ago. >> i'm shocked. >> reporter: police say just after 5:00 this morning, someone decided to shoot up the outside of the grocery store. employees inside the store tell me it was their co-worker who had had an argument with another employee and decided to settle it by shooting in to the store. >> i've lived here over 30 some years and i've been at shoppers quite a bit and never. >> reporter: there is video of
