front runner if not the actual pick. let's talk about the candidate donald trump, who promised to drain the swamp in washington. at this point, it seems like he's building a team filled with insight. if there was any question about president-elect trump's determination to dismantle obama care, his answer is the appointment of congressman tom price as secretary of health and human a third generation doctor, price is an outspoken opponent of obamacare at the forefront of the repeal and replace movement. he's also an advocate of privatizing medicare. changes that could affect a third of the u.s. population. democrats are promising a fight. >> we say to our republicans who want to privatize medicare, go try it. make our day. >> reporter: the president-elect

here in about ten minutes. new clues tonight in the murder of a 16-year-old in southeast d.c. police now have a person of interest. he could be the key to soling the murder of brianna mcmillen. e vabs was arrested last summer. pat collins is live with more on what happened in that case. >> reporter: here he is. washington plea from the police chief. >> if he is listening and has any conscience or human e decency, we ask he turn himself in and take responsibility for his actions. help bring closure to the family and the community. the community that have been rattle bid this case. >> reporter: 30-year-old saeve

brianna mcmullen shot and killed by a stray bullet near her home in the public housing complex. police say surveillance cameras show evans holding a gun and shooting that gun towards some people in a courtyard here. tonight police are trying to hunt down evans. >> he should be considered armed and dangerous. if anyone should see him or know his whereabouts, they should immediately contact the police. >> this is not the first time evans has been in the news. back on august 10th, 2014, six people, three men, three women, shot and wounded in an alley near national park. evans was named as a suspect in that case. august 28th, e events arrested inside a a million dollar home in prince georges county where they say he and a dozen other people were squatting in a foreclosed property there. evans arrested for that shooting

but in may 2015, those charges against saeve evans were dismissed and it's unclear as to why. it might have been a witness problem. according to court documents, one witness was a paid confidential informant. one refused to provide any further information. one said it didn't know what happened. and another refused to cooperate. evans was himself a sources say in one incident, he was shot more than six times. but he survived. he recovered and returned to the streets. jim, back to you. >> pat collins, thank you. tonight the community at ohio state university will gather for a buckeye strong event. they are trying to heal from yesterday's attack on campus. an 18-year-old student plowed

slashing them with a butcher knife. campus police officer shot and killed the man. he was a permanent u.s. resident and refugee from somalia. 11 people were injured in the attack. students returned to campus today, but many of them still a bit nervous. >> definitely a lot of emotions going through me. like a little more. >> investigators are are still trying to figure out why he did it. they have not ruled out terrorism. he left behind a message on his facebook page. that message he said attacks on muslims around the world led him to a boiling point. d.c. leaders are pushing back against metro's plan to cut hours on the subway. maintenance crews can have more

just an hour from now, we expect to be a farewell of sorts for cubans here in the capital city before the remains of castro are transferred across country. and today was the last day for cubans who live in havana to come to the outskirts. they were able to sign a tribute book and lay flowers. whatever they chose to do.

we have learned tonight that the d.c. police will complete their rollout of body worn cameras in the next couple weeks. mayor bowser announced today that all 2600 patrol officers will have those cameras by mid-december. d.c. council approved body camera legislation about a year ago after reaching an agreement with the mayor over public access to the footage. fairfax county police recruits are arming themselves with the valuable skill. they are learning how to deal hearing impaired. the lesson at the academy today came from someone uniquely qualified. the police chief. he was raised by deaf parents and has found a special niche in law enforcement. he underscored the need for officers to take time to recognize signals that someone they encounter may be deaf. showing how they will gesture to their ear or mouth.

's spouse to travel. montgomery college does. nova also does not pay for seat upgrades or extra baggage. we found montgomery college's president spent $9700 on just that since 2014. since he was hired last september, nova says its president has spent about 8500

hundreds of homes and buildings are thousands forced out of their homes if gatlinburg. many of them describe the scene as hell. fire all around them as they evacuated. national guard troops arrived to help firefighters struggling to get the upper hand. three people have died in this inferno. . there are only six survivors in the crash of a plane carrying a brazilian soccer team. it was a chartered plane that

declared an emergency. on that plane were 81 people including members of an up and coming soccer team on their way to their biggest match in team history. several journal u.s.s were killed. six survivors were initially rescued. seven were found later. there are reports they were able to call his wife after the crash, but later at the hospital. a tribute to military families today as we got our first look at the holiday decorations inside the white house. this is the eighth and final year that michelle obama is in charge of the holiday decor. this year's theme is the gift of the holidays. many of the rooms highlight her favorite initiatives. there's also a whimsical tribute to the first family dogs.

some of the biggest names in showbiz set to perform at the new mgm casino at national harbor. sting to bruno mars, cher, a lot of excitement one week before the venue money the mgm theater will make for prince georges county over the next six months. >> reporter: right now, the county is projecting that they are looking at maybe $19 million in tax revenue. a quarter will be coming from the concerts that they throw here. >> who have they announced that you'd like to go see?
