district. >> it's put the national spotlight on a neighborhood pizzeria in northwest d.c. the man accused of firing shots is in court right now. let's get the update from scott macfarlane at the live desk. >> good afternoon, edgar madison is facing a slew of new charges. the 28-year-old from north restaurant yesterday afternoon on kmth avenue with a handgun and ar-15 and fired multiple shots. nobody was injured and after drawing a heavy police presence officers arrestedwell wefl outside on the street. it's drawn national attention for the gunman's motive. he had gone to investigate the pizza gate conspiracy.

first at 4:00, new hope for a local mother jailed overseas. fan ta is a naturalized citizen from frederick, maryland. she's been locked up since april. a hearing will determine whether she gets her passport back. a train derailed in south carolina carrying 100 brand new bmws. >> it happened yesterday afternoon. they are still not sure why two locomotives and ten train cars were damaged. 97 bmws destroyed. there were no reports of injuries. crews were busy removing some of the busy cars from the tracks. they'd have to do that before they can get in there and do the

coming to our area. we're three days away from the grand opening of the new mgm national harbor resort. our prince georges county bureau chief has been covering its progress tr years. now she joins us from inside. >> reporter: today e we got an inside look at mgm national harbor. we're standing inside the atrium here. above us is the 24-story hotel. today we had an opportunity to check out what's happening in the atrium area including all of casino. take a look at how magnificent the inside of this building is. this looks a lot like the bloj owe in las vegas. that's the inspiration of how it's styled. right now we're seeing christmas decorations here, but my understanding is this is in a constant rotation daily and seasonally to change the inside of this place up. for the gamblers, we're interested in what's inside.

the death toll from that weekend fire that tore through a california warehouse now stands at 36 and it's expected to grow. >> officials have activated a criminal investigative team to look into what some are calling illegal housing. steven luke is at the scene in okayland with the latest. >> this is quickly becoming one of the deadliest fires in

talking about some of the information they have learned after they have identified the bodies and say some of the trauma indicative of their investigations suggests that these individuals fell from the second floor and there was indeed a second floor collapse. then today everyone was called off of the search because there was fear the entire building could come down. authorities believe they pin pointed the section of the warehouse erupted friday night. >> we now feel very strongly that we have the section of the building that was the area of origin of where the fire started. >> structural concerns caused firefighters to pause in what is slow and methodical work. >> working under a wobbly potentially collapsing exterior wall that's extremely dangerous. >> they have combed through mounds of charred debris and

we had a beautiful day out there today and on the mild side with temperatures in the 50s. we had some sunshine and a little bit of a breeze. but all in all, not bad. big changes this week. but this evening, pleasant and rather nice. overnight that's when we start to see the changes taking place. we'll see some clouds roll into the area and then tomorrow is a storm team 4 weather alert day. we have rain showers all throug maybe even a little bit of mix. 55 right now. we're doing all right this evening. we'll continue to fall into the 40s during the overnight. possibly in the upper 30s for an overnight low in d.c. we're not looking at much on the radar right now. the clouds are starleting to stream in. they will continue to increase throughout the overnight. here comes the rain. a lo the of moisture headed our
