for the weekend in just a you few minutes. >> you thank you, tom. right now d.c. mayor muriel bowser is inside trump tower meeting with the president-elect. mark segraves is live. good morning, mark. >> reporter: good morning, barbara. mayor bowser asked for the meeting and the president-elect said yes. minutes ago mayor bowser came in you through the back door, avoided reporters, got on the elevator we've been watchi upstairs for her meeting with the president-elect. we do know she wants to talk about infrastructure. it's the one thing she says she has common ground with the president-elect. there was a surprise this morning, a very rare showing of donald trump in the lobby and he spoke to reporters. he was asked about his meeting with the mayor. here is what he had to say. >> we'll talk about a lot of things to a lot of people, we have a lot of people, a great group of people, doing very well.

to the restaurant to self-investigate fake news linked to the clinton campaign. we have also learned that welch has a criminal history in north carolina dating back to 2007 which includes marijuana possession and drinking while driving. right now the d.c. council is meeting and is set to vote on paid family leave. the proposal gives 11 weeks of paid leave for parents and eight weeks to care for a sick relate. new business payroll tax. if passed this would only apply to workers in d.c. not government workers. today's vote is the first of two votes on the bill. a vre train plowed into a car on the fredericksburg line causing a big headache during the morning commute today. chopper 4 was over the scene around 7:30 this morning in brooke, virginia. no word on any injuries. trains were delayed about two hours as crews worked to clear the scene.

three-quarters of the warehouse that went up in oakland has been cleared out following a terrible fire last week. 26 people have been identified. people in the city are holding vigils and fund-raisers to honor and help the families of everyone who was killed. the warehouse was an artist colony t this morning in an exclusive interview with the "today" show the building's manager said he's sorry. >> i'm a proud man. i'm not going to answer questions. i would rather get on the floor and be trampled by the parents. i would rather let them tear at my flesh than answer these ridiculous questions. i'm so sorry. i'm incredibly sorry. what do you want me to say?

i am sorry. >> oakland prosecutors say they're considering criminal charges against the building's owner. a terror threat under investigation right now in los angeles. the fbi says someone told them the rail system would come under attack. they're calling it a specific eminent threat but it's not clear if it's a hoax or if it's real. several agencies increased security on the l.a. rails this morning adding federal agents and unov and new this morning, a republican lobbyist is increasing the reward for information on who shot dnc staffer seth rich. it's now up to $130,000 and is believed to be the largest reward in d.c. history. rich was shot and killed over the summer while he was walking home in the bloomingdale neighborhood. last month his parents made an emotional plea for those responsible to come forward. this morning we're learning more about two court cases that

carolina could announce when they plan to retry a former police officer for murder. the mistrial was declared yesterday in michael slegr's trial. he shot and killed scott after a traffic stop last year. prosecutors say it was murder and they plan to retry slegr. the defense says the former officer feared for his life. video of the encounter seems to show scott running away as slegr shoots him in the back. in georgia justin ross harris has been sentenced to life in on he's convicted of murder after leaving his 22-month-old son cooper in a hot suv for seven hours on a sweltering day in june of 2014. the judge handed down the maximum sentence and said the court found harris had intentionally and unnecessarily inflicted severe physical and mental pain upon his son. investigators say it was a brutal murder at a gas station in spotsylvania.

to submit a letter of resignation at 75. the home is home to 6,000 catholics. maryland's newest casino opens in just days now, and it's the fairly safe bet you'll see large crowds there. the news 4 i-team found maryland has a list of players who are prohibited from entering some local casinos, but you can't see that list. as scott used to keep players from winning too much. >> reporter: joe is a pro. >> you see the same people everywhere you go on the circuit. >> reporter: he's from silver spring and plays in the major pro poker tournaments. >> you travel to different cities all the time. you're mostly working seven days a week. >> reporter: he used to spend time at the blackjack tables in maryland, too, but he's no longer allowed inside horseshoe. >> it came out of the blue, like four guys in suits show up

of them. each casino has a list and maryland state officials have. but who was booted and for what? the state doesn't specify. the lists are kept private. unlike in john. we found delaware, pennsylvania, and new jersey each post the names of gamblers booted by government gaming investigators and why. some for cheating, stealing, others for fighting or brawling on the casino floor like these customers in dover downs casino in delaware. casinos in other states are permitted to boot players for card counting even though it's not illegal and those names are not released by the state. still, we found hundreds of other evictions for rule break rg publicly listed which ensures state gaming officials are held accountable and that the evictions are justified. >> maryland is getting there. >> reporter: james carmel says

more than 2,400 men and women who were killed. a wreath laying ceremony is planned for tomorrow just before 1:00 p.m. tom, tell us about our weather out there. >> that ceremony tomorrow, they'll have dry weather which is good news but not now. we have got moderate to heavy rain coming down around much of the region. we did start off with a little bit of sleet this morning. people are wondering what's going on? it's december and it's a winter month, so it was cold enough for some that have with sleet but now it's rain everywhere except the pink zones in the upper left of your screen there out on the high elevations of the mountains where they are getting a little bit of sleet and icing there. but locally all this area in green is rain and the darker green it's coming down harder. loudoun county, fairfax county into charles county. that's one little wave of some more moderate rain will come through the metro area and then another wave of somewhat heavier rain just to the west of

we have some breaking news in the patent dispute between samsung and apple. the supreme court has thrown out a multimillion dollar judgment for samsung. today the court said because they copied only a tiny part of sam supg phones, the company may not have to pay all of the profits that it earned. a lower court will determine how much money samsung does have to pay. also breaking right now out in louisiana the man accused of shooting and killing former nfl player joe mcknight was arrested and charged with man legislature. a news conference is taking place right now. 54-year-old ronald gasser was released shortly after the

resort and we are joined to talk about what foodies can expect out there. now mgm seems to put a big premium on its food service, that part of it. do they think that's what's going to get people in there to play those games? >> a big focus on the restaurants, the mgm, that's about to open is using local ingredients. so obviously we have at national harbor ccess to a lot of great seafood in maryland. wh seafood they're playing that up. >> they're making a big deal about their chef driven restaurants. they're bringing in some pretty well-known chefs to have opening restaurants, i guess these were not their first restaurants, but let's talk about fish. who is the chef for that restaurant? >> that's a local favorite, jose andreas, who picked up a few starts here locally recently and

driven seafood restaurant on a patio in the season when it's warmer outside, we can go outside and jose will be there doing crab boils and meeting the guest that is are there for the casino. >> is he expected to actually hang out there at that restaurant? >> yes, yes. this is a big deal for him. i think he's taking it very seriously. a lot of oysters on the half shell, an interesting one that juan? >> that's marcus samuelsson. he brings some ideas from new york down here, but this is a new concept for him. and he has a big job because he's in charge of the in-room dining service, so that kitchen is also going to be making all the food that people that are staying at the hotel eat when they order for room service. >> now will that be a fancy restaurant or a more casual? >> it's more casual and that's who he is as a chef and a

it's very family friendly. there's a big grill in the center which is supposed to be a part of the theatrical experience, seeing all the food cooked in front of you, and then in the back there's sammy's so that's more for the nightlife crowd named after sammy davis jr. from the rat pack and it will have a lot of old vegas feel to it, deejays and things like that. >> let's quickly talk about the frederick, maryland, brothers. th >> this is their first restaurant together, one is based in l.a., and one is the out here in frederick and this is their first. two top chefs. they went very far in the bravo it tv show. and this concept is probably one of the higher price points at the casino, some of the stakes are going to be around three figures. so you are looking at vegas prices there. a lot of sides.
