two dozen families are out of their homes because of a massive sink hole. here's a look. you can see one home has partially collapsed fps happening in frazier, michigan, north and east of detroit. parts of the roads have started to cave in. power lines are coming down as well. they blame the hole on a suer failure. at this point, they still don't know how big the sink hole is. elton john called him the kindest, most generous soul. george michael died after a heart failure over the weekend. as fans leave flowers at his home, we look back at his life and legacy.

good evening. thank you for joining us. i'm wendy rieger. >> and i'm david culver. a man shot and killed when police say he refused to drop a knife. this began as a domestic call in which things then escalated. new details about the moments leading up to it. darcy spencer starts us off in northeast. >> reporter: we just got ahald of the police report shed iding more light on what happened here. even before police happened. the suspect lit a fire inside the house and stabbed a woman in the arm. >>. i'm hurt. >> reporter: her son was shot and killed in a confrontation with police christmas day. it happened at his girlfriend's house in northeast. 1 11:30 in the morning. he went there to pick up toys for his kids. >> she had called the police and

he had taken the victim's house keys the day before. when he let himself in, they got in a fight. the police report says during a struggle, hull pushed the victim out of the house. at that point, she called someone for help. that witness was able to get the knife pu away from hull, but hull got another knife and stabbed the victim in the forearm. police say he refused to drop the knife and that's when at least one officer opened fire shooting him in the chest. he died at the hospital hours later. >> they could have done a lot of things. >> her son was a single father of four, an electrician and navy veteran. the two had problems in their relationship, but she didn't imagine it would lead
