we've got video from frederick county, frederick, maryland, about 6:00 a.m. our transportation reporter, adam tuss, spent the morning on the road, describing the precipitation, as a slushy mix. we want to find out now, what things are looking like. and what we can expect in the coming hours. with storm team 4 meteorologist amelia draper. >> as you can see on the radar for the most part we're completely dry across the area. some light showers back around winchester, west of i-81. can't rule out an isolated shower this afternoon in the district. mainly around 2:00 p.m. but it's all about the winds that are going to pick up. temperatures now well above freezing in the upper 30s and 40s. 44 in washington, 39 in frederick and frederick and washington counties the only two areas this morning where i'm getting reports of light snow and sleet causing slushy sidewalks and parking lots. everybody else just dealing with wet roads

morning hours. it's all about the increasing winds this afternoon. i'll have more coming up in 15 minutes. amelia, thank you. new developments in a deadly deputy-involved shooting in a home overnight in chester town. the suspect who got into a shoot outwith the queen anne's county sheriffs deputy has died. 52-year-old james rich. the department identified the deputy as warren hogan. deputy hogan was escorting a woman to that home to collect some clothes after a domestic incident. the man inside the home shot the deputy with a shotgun. deputy hogan fired back. both men were hit and rushed to two different hospitals. >> a close-range shotgun blast. is a devastating injury, there's a huge amount of energy transfer and that certainly happened to this officer. >> the doctor said that deputy hogan may have to undergo more surgeries, the deputy was wearing a body camera. investigators will be taking a

there's been an increase in line of duty deaths this year. 64 officers were shot and killed on the job in 2016. 21 of those officers were killed by ambush attacks targeting police, up from just six the year before. the national law enforcement officers memorial fund released those numbers. we're working to learn more about this crash in prince george's county central avenue and richie avenue in capital heights overnight. police crews were involved and some of the damage you can see, as well as officers speaking with somebody on the scene. still no word on injuries or what caused that accident. the questions are growing about what happened to a missing man. nobody has seen john donohoe for weeks. and now montgomery county police are trying to track down somebody who used his credit cards. news4's justin finch is live in bethesda at the corner of auburn avenue and norfolk avenue.

>> donohoe was last seen december 13th at a loved one's house and then at his own house here in bethesda. nine days after he disappeared, reports that his credit card have been used and now police are releasing video they say is of the woman who was using it. who's this woman at the checkout counter in this surveillance video? montgomery county police want to know. >> we would like her to come forward so we can determine how she obtained the credit card. >> a credit card that belongs to now missing 36-year-old john donohoe. police say the woman swiped some $700 in charges at a target, a beauty supply shop and a liquor store in the prince george's county area december 22nd. his family owns donohoe construction company. john was last seen december 13th at his home off auburn avenue in bethesda. >> we need to find john. >> now missing some two weeks,

hit-and-run. d.c. police are looking for this vehicle of interest, as they are describing it, they say it may be the one that hit and killed jacqueline colt tuesday morning and then just drove away. at the time, cole was in a crosswalk on 14th street in northwest in columbia heights. she was 54 years old. she was also deaf. and she lived just a few blocks away from where she was killed. court documents are helping to piece together what happened to a d.c. yoga instructor, trisha mccauley, one thing that remains a mystery or two things, where and how trish trisia came into contact with her accused killer, dwayne johnson. there's a gap in the timeline between 5:30 and 6:00 sunday evening. when trisha left her home to head to a party. in the next 24 hours, johnson was seen in two different areas in northwest d.c. on security camera. the grim court testimony wa

we are anticipating major developments in response to the hacking during the election. the obama administration could announce economic sanctions against russia as early as today. a direct response to the reports that russian hackers deliberately interfered with the election. the obama administration publicly accused the russian government of directing those attacks. there's an agreement in place to temporarily stop the fighting in syria. now russia is offering to include president-elect donald trump in those talks. russia says once trump is sworn in he's welcome to join his peace talks with turkey. turkey supports the syrian opposition in thai that country's civil war. russia supports the syrian government. the feud between president obama and president-elect trump may be off again. despite conflicts over israeli policy. nbc's edward lawrence breaks it down for us in capitol hill.

earlier or later could do the trick. in some cases tolls have gotten close to $30 one way. transit police searching for suspects after more than four dozen cars and trucks had their windows smashed out. the damage happened at the greenbelt metro station in prince george's county. police think it took place between 4:00 and about 5:00 yesterday morning. and that was before the station opened. metro says there are no reports of any stolen items and they were looking for those individuals that you saw in the pictures a few seconds ago. there you are. the maryland transit administration is rolling out plan to install bike racks on its trains. we're told the goals is to have one bike car on every train by the end of next year. right now bike riders are allowed to bring full sized bikes aboard the train and secure them in one of 23 racks. this is being paid for with a $96,000 grant and matching funds, installation should begin this spring.

they would never see in the tropical islands. while a majority of indonesians worship the muslim faith, people of the country's many different religions were happy to join in the holiday celebration here at the embassy residence in washington. there were songs played with the unique instruments of indonesia. there were dancers. and there were some who sang american songs in english. and there were visiting students from the island of papau, indonesia, who sang in their native tongue. for the party the room was decorated in the traditional ba batiks and treasures of the island nation. some of the guests wore the traditional clothing of their island and the headpieces for the men are specific to the part of indonesia they come from. and there's one thing besides the common language that binds them. >> i want to introduce our chef. >> i would love to meet the chef. galay, please? >> very nice to
