storm team 4 weather alert day. >> there is chuck belg telling us what we can expect heading outside today. >> spill some excitement around. what little bit of snow we've had will be rapidly ending aa cross the area here. snow is likely again starting tomorrow, probably about the time you wake up. the big winners tomorrow lk south and east of the washington area. could get up to 4 inches of snow across southern maryland and we've got at least five days in a row of cold weather coming our way. for now, the last of the snowflakes are down around st. mary's county and calbert. send me a picture with one inch of snow on the ground in eastern west virginia. temperatures right now, only in the 20s and thirds and we'll stay up into the low 30ser

we're here in frederick just off of market street. not a ton of snow, but you have, you can see, that it's coding the grass here. i'm mott seeing the snow spoking through like we did in gaithersburg. you can maybe get a better idea looking at the poll here. that would be about 2 inches or so. but not causing any major problems. everybody knew this light dusting of snow was coming. the road crews were out there in full force for the last 4 hours or so. they pretreated those roads and they're in pretty good shape there. we were driving on to 70 earlier. just west pavement. take a look at this. this is a side street off of market street here in frederick. some of these areas obviously were not treated. you can see some slick spots.

wolf attacks in the u.s. he worked with a government informant to take pictures of d.c. landmarks to use in propaganda videos. kamar faces up to 20 years in prison. also today, a maryland state police cadet will be charged for causing a crash on the beltway. he lost control and hit another car. karen holt williams from temporariel hill was killed. he faces a maximum of five years in prison. montgomery county police say social media is at the center of a murder investigation.. the body of 22-year-old jordy mahia was found by hikers last month. that discovery was made nearly one month after his mother reported his missing. she says he drove to maryland to meet a woman that he met on facebook. detectives say a group of gang members pretended to be that woman. five of them have been arrested. more

expected to be arrested in a federal bribery scheme investigation. it centers around the prince georges county liquor board. the board licensing office and two liquor stories were raided by the fbi yesterday. boar director david sun and commissioner soud face charges here. sun allegedly arranged prescribes to business owners to help pass a bill allowing liquor sales on sunday. opportunities for corruption arise when there is a nexus between government officials and private citizens who stand to gain financially from the outcome of those decisions. the owners of two liquor stores were arrested. tracey wilkins broke the story mid day. today, president-elect donald trump is set to meet with directors of the fbi and cia. he'll sit down with current

storm team 4 weather center with a look at some really cold temperatures. as you walk outside, you're going to need the warm coat this morning. 33 degrees in the district. gaithersburg, 27 degrees. we did see the light snowfall this morning. some cars have a coating of snow on them. some areas saw around 2 inches of snow. but that is long gone across the area. we're seeing dry conditions now. if you're waiting at the bus stop by 7:00 a.m., you'll be seeing some flurries across the area. but 8:00 this morning, 31 fwres and cold and by the afternoon, we're only looking at the mid 30s. so it is going on stay cold outside. we have some snow chances for your weekend. i'll show you the timing of that and how much you can expect, coming up. right thou, 270 northbound. neegs and dry. of course, my sidewalk was not nice and dry. so b

brockman has been the announcer at every inaugural parade. this year, he will not be. trump's committee wants steve ray to take over. ray volunteered for the trump campaign. the inauguration committee offer charlie the new position. charlie says he's been looking forward to the inauguration. >> i have got friends and family and expecting me to do this and i want to do this. we also spoke the to steve ray on the phone. he says he expects charlie and hopes he accepts the new position. we now now what the official stikts for the inauguration will look like. 250,000 tickets will be distributed next week to congress.

mall. >> maryland senator chris van holen offered his first speech on the u.s. floor yesterday. the democrats clammed the gop's plan to repeal the affordable care act. i team's scott mcfarland said it is unusual for a new senator to make a speech on the floor so soon. a virginia congressman is trying to make it he easier to cut federal workers pay. congressman morgan griffith represents virginia's 9th district. he and other house republicans are working to reinstate the holman rule from the late 1800s. it let's lawmakers cut an individual's pay to $1. but that rule could undermine decades of civil service. >> it's beyond silly. i don't know how to comment on it. >> is it an attack on civil service? >>

a lot of clouds around this morning. staying cold, for sure. but whatever little amounts of snow we're going to get are rapidly coming to an end. there are winter storm warnings down across the lower parts of the dell marva. we don't have any advisories around the washington metro area. we have a winter storm watch in st. mary's county. that's for tomorrow's snow. so this is the current situation with the snow pulling out. these winter storm warnings, and if you're traveling tomorrow south of richmond, towards norfolk or raleigh, they'll have better chances for snow. tomorrow's highs, only up to around 30 degrees here in and around the city. and, again, we could see as much as perhaps 4 inches of snow in southern most maryland out on to the eastern shore. could see enough to coat the grounds here around the city. we'll be keeping a close eye on

really depends on the track of the storm. for more on the storm track and the ten-day forecast, here is my buddy, sheena parveen. >> chuck, we're watching that storm track quickly. if the storm track gets closer, heaviest down to our south and east. we are on the northern edge of this in the district, so that means if the center of the storm moves farther offshore, this area of snow will move farther to the south. so we are going to watch that very closely. either way at this point, saturday morning clearing as we go through saturday afternoon and the good news is your sunday will be nice and dry. here is a look at the totals. much higher down to our south and east, especially closer to the coastline. and if you get closer to the sdrikz, we're looking at about less than an inch. a little farther to the south in parts of charles county near fredericks berg. about 1 to 3 inches. across your weekend, it will be cold drying as we go through sa
