95 southbound at 123, still a crash blocking lanes. seeing a tiny bit of a slowdown southbound. same thing on 66 this morning. 270 southbound, crash on the shourldz. 6:02 wsh brand new action in the senate that could lead to the repeal of the affordable care act. the bill left republican lawmakers work on legislation to repeal the affordable care act. the bill passed, 51-47. it was straight down party lines except for one republican, senator rand paul. the house expected to vote on the bill tomorrow. >> we are now eight days away from president-elect donald trump's inauguration. >> and the various inaugural events are expected to draw 1 million people on to the national mall. >> the biggest event is supposed

inauguration near capitol hill. justin finch is live in washington with the details. justin, good morning. >> an, aaron, this could be a logistical game changer here. d.c. councilmen report something 200 tour bus permits have been requested for the inall ragz. that is small compared to the 1800 for the women's march on washington the very day after. here is the map of the setup here. this will be the staging area at 10:00 a.m. on january 1st near independence avenue and third street and the capital footprint and the inaugust yagz stage. more than 1 4u7b,000 are expected to turn out that day. add that to the inauguration crowds. the numbers do collectate. agencies are prepping for this some 00,000 people plus. the focus is securing the inauguration and all attendees. >> that will be

hearing today. this comes after his testimony before the house was counciled yesterday. according to a top republican, the trump team would not allow it. it left democrats and republicans questioning whether to grant the special waiver mattis needs to be conpirmd. president-elect trump is weighing in on yesterday's news conference on twitter this morning. he tweeted, quote, we had a great news conference at trump towered the. a couple of fake news organizations were there, but the people truly get what's going on. some of his toughest talk was saved for the intelligence community after he speculated someone may have leaked word of an unsubstantiated report claiming russia had uncompromising information about him. >> i think it was disgraceful that the intelligence agencies allowed any information that turned out to be so false and fake. >> director of intelligence james clapper says he spoke with trump last night and told him the intelligence community did not leak that information. clapper also says the intelligence community hot

information in the document is reliable. you can expect that unsubstantiated report to be one of the topics discussed on today. trump's senior adviser kellyanne conway will be interviewed this morning. >> this morning, we're working to learn when a teenager will make his first court appearance on charges. angelo jackson was arrested for the deadly double strapping inside west wheaton mall. the 17-year-old is being charged as an adult. it was a case that put our area on edge. today, the man accused of killing three people in a shooting spree will be back in court. eulalio tordil is accused of killing his ex-wife and the next day he shot and killed two people during two car jacking attempts in montgomery county.

letter of resignation. we've learned vaughn was the only prince georges delegate on the house economic matters committee to vote yes on a 2015 bill allowing sunday liquor sales in the county. covering the sdrimpt distinstrict now, some guests at the ritz carlton are waking up after a stressful night. some of the rooms were evacuated due to lacker spray in unvented area. this morning, we're learning that the d.c. mayor mario bowser's administration spend more than $40 million to remove the snow from last year's blizzard. in some cases, d.c. paid more than double. officials charge too much on city credit cards for snow removal. the audit was

avenue. travel times, 270, no problem. top of the belt loop, getting typically slow. no actual problems in the way. 66 looking good. 95 quantityco to the beltway, no problems there. it's 6:14. right now, the man accused of killing a police officer and his ex-girlfriend is still on the run. but three associates of markeith lloyd are now behind bars. jameis slaughter was arrested last night. police say she's lloyd's ex-girlfriend and helped him collect money to stay on the run. lloyd's boss and snees are in jail for helping the fugitive. lloyd is wanted for the murder of a woman in december. the man wind the charleston church massacre is formally sentenced to death. a federal judge handed down that sentence to roof. roof still faces a second state trial for the 2015 shooting that

he also faced the death penalty in that trial. a 14-year-old high school student has been charmged in connection with a threat she made on twitter. the school told annarundle about the threat last week. police say the teen create dollars the account and tweeted we're planning to attack tomorrow. she confessed to police and is charged with disruption of school activities. big news in the nfl this morning, it looks like the san diego chargers are moving to los angeles. the team's owner is expected to make the official announcement this morning. look at this, though. a fan threw eggs at the chargers offices after the reports first came to light late last night. the police showed up, be he was gone by this then. the chargers owner could still change his mind, but that is unlikely. if this move happens, it could take place as early as this season. covering the district this morning, d.c. mayor muriel

this afternoon. then we go into tomorrow, kinds of a quiet day. it will be cooler. saturday, midnight, we already have the winter weather approaching. that moves in saturday morning. here, 6:00 a.m. snow through part of the area, we could see sleet and freezing rain. temperatures below freezing saturday morning, around freezing possibly in the afternoon. here is what we expect. this is going to be a smaller weather system, but we're still expecting 1 to 3 inches in parts of northern maryland. closer to the district, farther south, an inch or less. so we will be updating you on that. later on this afternoon and tonight with any tweaking to that forecast. for today, though, 65 degrees. unseasonably warm. we go into the weekend, there's the weather alert day on saturday. not too bad next week. let's get a check on the roadways with melissa mollet this morning. chopper 4 just got over this problem in prince georges county. you can see the big police response there on the scene and chopper 4 over that showing us those days starting to build

eastbound 66. crash in the middle of the roadway. 95 northbound, the express lanes there, after lorton crash reported there. 66, the rest of 66 actually looks okay here this morning. beltway, inner loop .outer loop, everybody there behaving themselves. i'll be back here in a couple of minutes with more on this problem in prince georges county. aaron. the d.c. area is home for a lot of folks, including the real life golden girls. not blanch, sofia, dorothy, all those ladies. but barbara, margaret and nancy. they've been live in friends for over 50 years. the ladies met in georgetown in the 1960s. none of them ever married or moved so they decided to stick together. they fell into a really good situation and it just works they told "people" magazine. >> and watch, they will live longer, happier lives because they have each other. you know, a lot of folks may soon be thinking about taco bell maybe for dinner. >>

alexandria police still looking for whoever is responsible. but talk about a mess here, take a look at the video. imagine waking up, you head down to the parking garage of your condo complex. you're ready to go to work. and this is what you find. your car with smashed in windows and it's not just your car, but the cars of your neighbors, as well. it happened at a condo complex between king street and braddock road in alexandria. 21 cars had their window broken in. an expensive fix, as you would imagine. we spoke to people there at that complex. they say it's a real hassle. one woman says she was with her young child when she discovered a car. >> we have little baby, like he is going to a school and he was really scared, what's happened, mommy. >> now, this isn't the only incident. there was something similar that happened in the west end section of alexandria. a dozen cars had their windows smashed in there. there was an incident

green belt metro station. cars were damaged there, as well. that begs the question, should you leave your car doors unlocked to prevent someone from smashing the window to get in. police say no. they say the best way to protect your valuables is to continue locking your doors. >> megan, thanks. it was a case that put our area on edge. today, the man accused of killing three people in a shooting spree will be back in court. tordil is accused of killing his estranged wife outside of a prince georges county school on may 5th. the next day, police say he shot and killed two people during two car jacking attempts in montgomery county. the panic and fear surrounding those shootings reminded many of the d.c. sniper shootings back in 2002. the fire at the watergate complex was an accident. construction materials sparked the fire yesterday. this happened on a balcony on the 13th floor. the apartment is undergoing renovations. a $2 million federal grant will help virginia eliminate its

assault kits. the state has been working since 201 to test about 2,000 backlogged kits. the grant money will be used to hire more staff to process the evidence and close rape cases that happened years ago. a new tracking system will be created to make sure all the kits are tested. the state plans to provide more support services to survivors and more training for law enforcement. president-elect donald trump's first news conference was wide ranging and at times contentious. >> trump was asked about unsubstantiated reports of russia having potentially damaging information about him. he called those allegations, quote, fake news and refused to answer a question from krn whom he believes was among the first to report those allegations. >> the heated exchange between trump, the trump team and krn continued last night with a clash b between anderson cooper and kellyanne conway. >> anderson, because cnn went first and had this breathless report, everybody say the said it
